Interesting, yes. Looks to be a direct competitor to the Taycan. Though, my concern is, if the Emira and Evija launches are any indicator I'd be a bit worried on delivery and initial quality (or perhaps that's just Lotus quirks).
It might take interest of some folks, but Maserati as a whole has a long way to go to dig their away out of the poor reputation for reliability and build quality. Especially without the allure of having a detuned Ferrari engine, I can't see the Folgore doing too well.
This comparison seems fair.
I'd expect the 911 to do better, especially given the power:weight ratio and the fact that the track is small and tight. Not well suited for the Taycan being a heavier vehicle and less suited for the task. I did like the comment regarding the fact that as an...
I've been waiting for prices for used 992 GT3 to drop to closer to MSRP after giving up on finding an allocation. Recently though, been thinking given my actual driving behavior, I'd be happier with a 911 Targa. It just checks more boxes.
I've had a few conversations with other EV owners while charging in public. No real haters, just folks excited about EV driving and sharing their experience. I always try to compliment other people's cars as well and never try to one-up anyone. I'm not about the bragging life.
I have had...
I almost went through the purchase of the Air Dream Edition and it was the looks that threw me off, but that's a good way to describe it.
The drivetrain tech is pretty amazing and it's definitely cavernous on the inside in comparison to the Taycan. They seem to be having all sorts of issues...
Walking to work takes longer than driving. More at 11.
This reminds me of the meme where the claim was that EV charging costs $19.20/hr (DC fast charge $0.32 per minute) for 8 hours (L2 home charge time) totaling $153.60.
Definitely exciting times coming up for EVs. To me the Taycan was the first EV I was really excited for. I'm happy with mine, though at times it does get annoying with having to bring it in for recalls and little fixes. It's honestly a great first attempt, all things considered.
While, I love...
The Polestar 2 is my wife's daily drive. Only 5 months in or so, but, other than one 2 hour window where the LTE modem was offline, it's been a very smooth experience so far. There are many reports related to issues mostly stemming from failing/failed TCAM modules. Since much of the car relies...
Saw this was just announced. 1200+ HP Tri-Motor and 0-60 under 2sec. I think it looks quite a bit better than the current trims available. No more Buick looks, which was a reason I had cancelled my Dream Edition reservation. I don't think it's worth $250K though, that's way to much. They've also...
Hard choice. I'd say it depends on what's most important to you, both are great vehicles.
I think it'll be easier to replace the RWD Taycan at a reasonable cost and the RS6 would probably maintain it's value pretty well compared to the RWD. With the Cayenne and Bronco you have the practical...
Cool looking car, though, it's targeting a market that doesn't really want EVs. Muscle car people tend to want to have the noise and feel of a V8 engine, many want YOU to know they have a big loud V8.
I can agree to that. We've had issues with some stations being offline, issues initiating the charge, or getting a low charge rate. Never had an issue not being able to charge, just that it takes longer to get working as we'd expected. It's definitely an early stage technology experience.
I got used to the loss of most controls, but, the vent thing is very annoying. Nothing wrong with physically moving the vents like on most every car. You basically have to come to a stop in order to make adjustments.
Good luck! I'm sure it'll work out fine and enjoy the time at the ring.
I rent a car from Hertz every month or two to drive and I usually try to get the Premium or Luxury tier which equates to a Genesis, Acura or similar. They're comfortable enough for me. I can't do economy cars any more, my...
There's plenty of studies arguing one way or another in terms of the net environmental impact of EVs vs ICE cars to where the argument can be made one way or the other in terms of what is better as of today.
The way I figure is moving forward, burning gasoline will never get much cleaner...
Software has definitely become the core and central to the overall experience for cars (and life as a whole) nowadays. Most people have high expectations for software that just works and is well integrated. I do think that there'll be a shake-up in the auto industry because of this.
The big...
I cancelled my Air Dream Edition reservation a few weeks before delivery. The car had all the technical specs performance and practicality wise, though it lacked soul on top of looking like an old Buick. I had a longer post about it in another Lucid thread here.
Other folks in thread made me...
