I gotta keep myself honest on the range and MPGe. The Taycan Turbo is slightly better in range than the E Tron S....I had been referencing the regular E Tron!
E Tron S:
Taycan Turbo:
The 'refresh' is a new (old name), some changes to the grill (which I dont like) and the battery size improvement. The rest seems to be the same. The US version is supposed to debut in April - my guess is the added cost of the battery will have to be passed on to the consumer, so the extra 40...
I'm coming from a Turbo and was already rightsized on my range expectation. I came from a 4S before that and the range was better, but I found myself throwing my foot into it, so the difference was closer to 10% in terms of their real world range difference (for me).
I just purchased a McLaren...

I agree on the roof rails - think I have used them once years ago. With an SUV at least they dont look completely out of place.
My taste of course, but I'm not a fan of the Sportback. I've tried. I think it looks like an SUV going through a mid life crisis.
Emotion is subjective - the current 911 is a great example...drive a GT3 and then drive a Mercedes GTR Pro; both are identical by the numbers but the 911 is so good, to me, it misses the soulful experience.
The E-Tron is already coming in knocking on the door of 375 miles in range. This S...
Anybody consider these against each other? Or perhaps lucky enough to have both in the driveway? The S version is what I am looking at, which is largely new.
I understand the physical differences of an SUV vs. a Sedan, but as look into what is effectively an electric version of the RSQ8, it...
To emphasize the idea that an ICE car provides additional emotional responses, just listen to this and think about how it makes you feel. In person, these were so loud, you could feel it in your chest as they moved past you.
83kW battery with about 170 real world mile range with a starting price of $250K est....nuff said
I would say that the Taycan is in the catbird seat. Maserati doesn't exactly have the greatest reputation either.
I had two Planet Ocean Chronos explode just outside of warranty...the Swatch Group was not very kind in their repair costs, but were kind enough to return the parts in a tiny zip lock to prove that they had done the repair.
FWIW, not a huge fan of this brand anymore - the titanium for the...
I just had a conversation with the GM over at Porsche of Fremont CA - hes a good friend. The Taycan has 11 allocations for the remainder of the year across North America. So, not a great situation for those wanting one - and waiting times have continued to protract for his customers with orders...
FWIW if you are measuring range against your Tesla, it's different. Somehow Tesla advertises a 300 miles of range and it delivers 200ish. The Taycan pretty much does what it claims - so for example in a 4S with the performance battery, 250 is easily achieved without hypermiling...and then some.
Very hard to explain to people what this actually is without them having done it themselves...especially in the US. Especially when you are messing with the 'big boy' 125CC shifters...SO much fun!! Im smiling ear-to-ear under the helmet.
Tesla does this today.
You buy a fully functioning car and the full driving features etc aren't guaranteed in a reselling arrangement. Confirming the hardware is there is the best you can hope for in the repurchase.
This isn't really new, just annoying.
I wouldn't exactly call the Mustang the lower end of the market - they pull quite a bit of money these days and are put together well. In fact, they have come far enough to demand >$100K in the GT500 category...Im not an American Muscle guy but if I was, they would be on my list...
You're missing the point. The grill has little to do with anything other than branding for BMW. FWIW, mission accomplished.
As soon as you see those monstrous kidney grills you know exactly who made the car.
you missed calling out that front bumper cover - why did they have to make it look like Donald Duck? The 3 had SO much more potential with what the learned from the S and X data; that bumper cover...total butterface.
