I got back to my Cayenne EV Turbo at lunchtime in a carpark and found the front offside tyre flat (not sure yet if it is a puncture or someone slashed it).
Porsche assistance have been great. Picked it up within 2 hours to take to the local Porsche centre and arranged a loan car.

Just now need to see the price of the replacement tyre ! 😬

Do Porsche still offer the Tyre and Wheel insurance? My SA threw it in on my Taycan but no mention of it for the Cayenne

They didn’t mention it otherwise I’d have gone for it!

Yes they do. There may be a time restriction after car purchase so you may need to move quickly. I think it is great value £ 799 for 3 years.

Incidentally, I cannot find any Porsche approved or prestige winter or all season tyres for my 21” wheels. Even Porsche are struggling and they want £5,000+ for wheels and tyres. I fear if I really do want them then I’ll have to buy 20” wheels.

Both Michelin & Pirelli websites say they do make them but in reality there aren’t any as there isn’t enough of a market in the UK to make them viable. The only tyre specialist that did provide a quote wanted £ 900 / t6re with no idea when they would have them.

I also asked the dealership for all season tyres on the turbo (22” wheels) and they said they can get hold of the front ones but not the rear yet so looks like they are coming.

I'm being told there is no date for the rears. Everybody I talked to said there aren't enough sales of that size in the UK. I'm very pessimistic that winter tyres unavailable in Oct will become available this winter.

This is my choice of winter tyres for my Cayenne electric turbo.

In case anyone is looking to swap to 21” winter tyres I’ve found 2 options. Porsche will source tyres and wheels sets ranging from £ 3,600 for 20” Aero to £ 6,300 for 22” Sport Editions. The dealer then charges £ 200 per swap including storage so £ 400 / year. The prices for the wheels sets are from so likely to increase if you want a particular tyre.

Option 2 (the one I have gone with). Purchase the tyres from MyTyres who import them from Germany to any address in the UK. I’ve arranged for them to go to the tyre specialist I’ve used over many years. They will swap the tyres and store for about £ 200 / year. The reviews seem to be very favourable for Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 NG0 EV and they have cost £ 1,600 delivered including all taxes.

Never had winter tyres in UK but 3600 for 20 inch doesn’t sound too bad.
