The office atmosphere at times resembled that of a telemarketing boiler room. A supervisor had purchased the metallophone – a xylophone with metal keys – that employees struck to celebrate appointment cancellations, according to the people familiar with the office’s operations.
You can't make this stuff up.

so glad porsche would never cover up a problem…and avoid service visits for problems that are self inflicted.
Not sure if you read through. Tl;dr: Tesla service advisors would run remote diagnostics and hide the existence of other problems detected in response to a range complaint. Further, customers calling about range would be blocked from opening subsequent cases. Allegedly.

Some customers do like to complain, and there’s nothing wrong with a business trying to minimizing the cost of support (it’s not negligible). It is getting wrong when the product is defective, and the degree of assholism ranges from “merely serious” in Porsche EVSE case to “textbook antisocial” in Tesla’s.

Porsche has a concern about the charger so sets as a default the charger to 50%, however they did not prevent anyone from charging at 100%. That is orders of magnitude less significant than what Tesla has been doing.

Am surprised that people are surprised!!

it’s all about sales and Tesla are no exception- they have and will continue as I’m sure many manufacturers will, to ’massage’ any stats that may increase their sales……

Have posted a number of times on this forum stating that one of the reasons I want rid of my model X long range is the ‘hopeful’ mileage prediction that has not come true in the nearly 3 years of ownership.

Tesla are no different than any other manufacture, only that they are new to the car manufacturer scene and are not so advanced in hiding the flaws.

You’re right; however, Porsche have not made an attempt to correct this in 3+ years, and that is unacceptable in its own way.
