I have one on my Macan. I find it good enough and the fitting was excellent.
I went with it as my dealer said a non-Porsche fitted camera may mean difficulties for electrical warranty. They did say that was very unlikely. My concern was possible 12v battery drain if not cabled exactly correctly by someone other than the dealer.
Whilst UK cars have camera prep it isn't complete to the camera location so it's not a straight forward plug in.
There are many posts on the Macan EV forum regards alternative cameras being fitted. You may find on there where the guys downloaded the cabling / fuse diagrams. There may be similar docs for the Cayenne but more than likely the ICE versions.

I've got a Porsche camera which I've previously fitted in a Taycan and 911 - now waiting for its 3rd shot at life when the Cayenne arrives. No issues fitting the device previously but there were detailed instructions from Porsche for both cars and I haven't yet seen any instructions for the new Cayenne.
Instructions only really need to point out where the factory prepared cables are hidden, so if necessary I'll go fishing!

Does the FitcamX work on this Cayenne by any chance? I saw it was compatible on the macan and cayenne E3.
Still awaiting my car but I have my old FitcamX laying around to probably test it out.

I would say it is pretty easy but you need to take your time just not to scratch anything. I typically start with covering all the leather parts on the dash before starting anything.
You can follow the tutorial used for the Taycan: YouTube tutorial . Although not everything is exactly the same it is really self-explanatory. I'll give it a strong 8/10 DIY to do this.. The part that was more stressful (then I remember from my Taycan install) was the unlocking part of the mirror.

I attempted to fit my existing Porsche dashcam to the Cayenne, knowing the 'Dashcam Prep' was factory specced, however, despite finding the pre-installed wiring easily enough, it seemed that something was inactive within the system. Could be a fuse not fitted until required, could be it needs activating in the PCM (feels unlikely since the dashcam is standalone in its operation), could be the wiring isn't terminated at the supply end (again, feels unlikely). Whatever the reason, the power cable was not giving any power!
I asked my OPC for some guidance when visiting this week and the feedback from the tech was they're still waiting for Porshe to release the service manual on dashcam fitting in the Cayenne EV's so they don't yet know the answer. He mentioned they have several owners waiting for the cameras to be fitted but, until they receive the manual, it's hands off.
The two connectors (one for power and the second for rear camera connection) were simple enough to find in the overhead console

I am waiting too for Porsche to release the installation details. The dealers has chased HQ since July and they have nothing. They are embarrassed as they sold the cameras and some owners’ insurance rely on cameras being fitted.
I think it’s something more than just Porsche issuing a guide - as you say, the UK cars come with the cabling pre-installed.

They are not factory fitted. They are a dealer fit and are front and rear. They are the standard Porsche cameras so plenty of images on the web.
The front is quite chunky but when fitted in the correct position the rear view mirror hides most of it from the driver.
The resolution isn't as good as non OEM's but I think ok. To avoid wireless issues (see the MacanEV forum) it's best to ignore the camera App and take the card out to load the images. I bought a much higher capacity card so the images / videos are not overwritten as often.

The main reason I went with the Porsche dashcams was because UK support said if there were electrical issues the warranty for those Could be voided. I didn’t really believe it would cause a problem but a few early adopters of alternatives on the Macan forum were experiencing some issues with alternatives. I was mostly concerned about the possible drain of the 12v battery but late realised that was unfounded. I went with the Porsche one on the Cayenne as it was a gift from the dealer as I left the one in the Macan.
