I'm comtemplating my next EV with 2020 Taycan Turbo out of warranty in July 2024…

I'd love any thoughts you have on the F150 EV once you have it.

I had the use of an F150 Lightning for a few hours last Fall. Love it. Ridiculously quick for a truck. It’s a special thing.

The questions for me are whether they’ve improved the fun factor (and I don’t mean a new fake sound), and how heavy it is.

Taycan can somewhat be forgiven on these aspects as it has a more practical use (family hauling, long distance driving, etc) but when buying a Boxster top of the list are fun and handling.

I’m hoping for a 3 speed transmission and paddles along with modest range to save weight.

It needs to have at least 400hp and 400ftlbs of torque, 200+ mile range, and be under 3,800 lbs. There’s no way it will be close to the weight of the current Boxster if it’s going to have a minimum acceptable range.

For me to be interested it would need to push 500hp450ftlbs at that weight.

Will need to reconfigure the EVSE setup in that garage bay as I was planning on it having Taycan-esque L & R charging ports. But, I think I actually like the location shown better anyway

A bonnet for a boot and a passenger door that doesn't shut properly. Looking good! Do like the ass charge port. The Taycan DC port in the UK is retarded.

Really is special, just like this e-718 will likely be. The world of EVs is getting a lot more interesting : )

170 kW to the Boxster seems excellent, btw, for what will likely be a relatively small and light battery.
