For anyone considering a Lucid, this is a strong warning from Engineering Explained

I almost bought one for the engineering, I.e. the fabulous range. I bought a Taycan (apple calls it a Tarzan) GTS instead and I love it, EXCEPT for the range. The Taycan does have a few minor glitches with respect to CarPlay and keyless entry, but it drives like a dream.
I feel for Lucid, it has so much promise, but testimonials like this are going to kill it. They should merge with Rivian, reputed to have wonderful software.

Currently driving a Lucid Gravity Dream Edition. He's right, lots of software bugs. Drives well, but very much a bugs galore car at the moment. They're doing their best to fix with OTA updates. The hardware and engineering is top notch. They need to spend more time with the software team,t hat's for sure.

Rivian has good software in general but my R1S still has plenty of bugs. My car was even bricked by an OTA before so there are real growing pains. They are also missing tons of features in comparison to Tesla (no surprise) and even legacy auto (texting). Since Rivian refuses to support CarPlay it's frustrating while they play catchup which will take years. Still generally a safer bet than legacy auto without OTA capability.

I know buying a Cayenne will be a downgrade in software but I'm willing to deal with that for a better-quality vehicle with CarPlay. The addition of digital key was something I was waiting for too.

Hopefully in 5-10 years I can buy a Cayenne with Rivian's software stack due to their partnership with VW.
