Any experience with interruption to mobile phone network whilst in the car with the thermal windows closed?
For toll devices recommended position is as per diagram.

Pretty sure your phone will be fine also but odd what the dealer has advised you - do they have a clear explanation as most would positively encourage it.

Thank you! He just said he doesn’t k ow much about it and checked the macan evs they have on the floor and none of them have it so I was advised it’s not a popular option in aus and is mainly for extreme weather locations.

I have not had any issues with cellular reception, nor toll road near-field antennae being able to read signals through Porsche's thermal and UV glass. However, I have had one issue with a neighborhood gate with an RFID reader not being able to pick up a signal through the windshield.

Anecdotally the phone reception in my Taycan with the thermal/noise insulated glass is materially worse than in my wife’s without. I drop calls more often in marginal reception areas. I didn’t choose it for my Cayenne for that reason.

I am in the US.

I did a little research and it seems the sorts of mettallic layers used for this block ~25db or more of signal. 6db is equivalent to twice as far to the tower so 25db is quite a bit.

If you order front only you actually keep most of the cell reception in environments where there is a lot of reflection and the signal is omnidirectional; how often this is the case is unclear.
