Only by a consumer/customer who is fed up with Porsche recalls but still insists on using the Porsche EVSE.J-1772 internals need re-working by consumer/customer for the Porsche EVSE not to suck - not a quality product.
the trend continues unabated that the porsche EVSE and related parts are simply awful products and have no business charging your EV - purchase an alternative quality EVSE and ignore the Porsche EVSE offerings.

I bought a Wallbox 40 amp plug-in EVSE four years ago. It's been three years since it was connected to internet and updated. I don't use any of its online functionality. The switch seems to work ok to charge my Taycan.quite the history for a glorified on/off switch…
until Porsche came out with their EVSE I was unaware of any EVSE's that had problems, my experience was always they were a "solved" problem and not particularly challenging - they ere wall paper - not something you think about or notice…iI bought a Wallbox 40 amp plug-in EVSE four years ago. I'd rather not FA,FO.
I hope things will continue to be ok.
This is an interesting point about EV technology and reliance on external supply chain.hmmmm…EV's are not mature and the "let the supply chain do this" approach hasn't paid dividends - it has in fact cost more - because all sorts of other digital wins are "blocked" - OTA updates are technically infeasible and lead to high maintenance and warranty costs to have dealer-service perform tasks that could be scaled/automated to be done digitally…
wonder if VW/Audi/Porsche are learning any lessons?
I think the different with car is design and production is given to supply chain - where as with most electronics only production is "farmed" out - design/validation/conformance normally remains "in house"…This is an interesting point about EV technology and reliance on external supply chain.
Electronic products like computers and TVs seem to rely on external supply chains for parts, assembly, and ?design?.
The complexity of EVs makes them different?
