Messing with you of course : ). Yours hands down the better car imo - no contest.
I know - and I loved the pics - the 992 911's look so good in gentian blue - I've tracked a GT3 Touring the car is amazing - and the loss of wing is really really minor and doesn't really compromise the vehicle...amazing

but hte double wish bone front suspension and the associated increase "turn in" and front end grip is simply life changing - I drove several 992 GT3's a PECLA and various tracks - and the steering rack is what sold me to switch it up from my excellent 991.2 GT3 - 992's steering is next level good - I simply can't imagine what it's going to be like with the RS…

also 304k for that GT3 is a "bit over MSRP" - that's a dealer "flip" not a true used vehicle…they are trying to make some money - but more power to them - market conditions

for anyone in market for a GT3 - that's a great build, but for that money I want something more than the base interior w/plastic dash cap…and for my purpose the 18 ways don't work - I need the sports buckets for 6-point harnesses…

but still gorgeous car - with manual and 18 ways - that car and some canyons to drive - well that's heaven.

Indeed I can also only imagine how tight that car is going to be on the track - getting into cup car territory for sure - and not joking re having a healthy annual budget (as you well know :)) for tires - you won't want to stop shredding corners!

Dave!

Congrats on the car, really excited for you! I hope you enjoy every second of that track time (as if I don't think you will ;) ).

Looking at the config, I know it is probably the best material for the job (since it is a Porsche), but I did get a kick out of the description of the Weissach Package where it mentions "reinforced plastic" - comeon, for that price, they could at least make it aluminum ;)

Also, FYI, for my Taycan, I got access to the app over a month early, but that also meant that the 3 years of Porsche Connect service ran out before my 3 year anniversary of owning the car. Porsche eventually was able to adjust for that, but took a bit of time.

Love to hear about the pickup experience in Germany, I hope to do the same if I get the electric 718. Are you planning an extended stay to drive around Europe with it?

Best regards,

Kurt (aka Reg)

thanks - EV pickup is hard for europe given different EV charging ports - but there are adapters - but so far porsche doesn’t offer euro delivery for taycan - they might have it worked out by the 718 however

we do have driving plans but they completely changed last week due to a canceled two day track event in spain!

but we are all good now and should get 5 days i. the cars - we are super excited!

@ciaranob how much for the tractor? Looked like it had the deviated stitching package, and 42” wheels color-coordinated with the saddle.
You mean the retro 'Trac'-can with 10 kW battery and narrow tires for increased range - unfortunately still a prototype, and they wouldn't let me test it :)

so harlious

I've enabled:
  • online software updates
  • AppleMusic
  • assigned my wife as secondary user
  • "named" it
  • allowed access to contacts/calendard
  • enabled location services access
  • downloaded the owner's manual
car is 5,747 miles away from me - and I haven't enabled remote access yet - but I've got it mostly configured for when I sit in the drive's seat for the 1st time end of Aug - ROFL

guess I'm going to have to pay for it soon enough…
You can do the same with the Taycans. I did it once mine left the factory. Remote access is the only thing you cannot setup as it requires your physical interaction with the PCM. What would be nice if they let users go through all the settings in the emulator and save them in their profile, to be loaded once you pick it up.

He doesn't have the car yet. Until the Porsche car is physically at the dealer and there are no stop sales on it, anything can happen (recalls, missing parts, port delays, strikes, boats sinking or catching on fire, cars falling off of transport vehicles, etc - all of which have been experienced by people on this forum waiting for Taycans).
