Insuring your Cayenne EV in the U.S.: Confirmed Availability & Cost?

Called my insurance company State Farm re to both confirm they would insure the Turbo and secondly, curious as to what would be its cost. They anre insuring our Macan EV Turbo.

They checked with their national underwriter pool who responded, “while we believe we would insure every Cayenne EV just as we do every Cayenne ICE, we do not officially have it as an approved model. Check back in six weeks to two months.”

Anyone yet have formal U.S. insurance ce company approval, and If so, what rate were you quote for which model please?

That makes sense. I remember when i first tried to get the then brand new model 2023 Corvette Z06 insured and again the SF underwriter pool similar said check back in a little while. No issues getting it insured at a fair price when I called them back in about six more weeks.

I haven't been able to get mine quoted yet via USAA either. I think its because its not a sellable model in the US yet. Needs certification still.

It makes sense that there are such matters as EPA fuel economy certification and similar determinations that are already in process, their being needing to be completed first.

In the UK, I’ve been told that without the correct independent insurance group information the car is classified as Group 99. Non-specialist insurance companies only insure up to Group 50
