Four months late, it finally arrived. Took delivery of this beauty. What an absolute gem of a car.
I bought the Cayenne Turbo Electric for very practical reasons. I needed a daily that works alongside the other Porsches, carries bikes and gear, charges at home overnight and does not ask for compromises.
The part that matters; It drives like a Porsche. Not like a very good EV, not like a fast SUV. A Porsche. The front axle is sharp in a way a car this size has no right to be. Some reviewers have called it too competent to be exciting. I disagree. Put it in Sport Plus and it goes stiff in all the right places, it tells you exactly what the front is doing, and it corners with a composure that makes you forget the weight. Then there is the power, which is frankly ridiculous
The most underrated feature is one you have to hear in person. The Electric Sport Sound is a V8 emulation, and it is absurdly realistic. It rises and falls with the car, follows every movement of your right foot, and has nothing to do with the synthetic spaceship noise most EVs make. In Sport Plus with the sound on, you forget there is no engine.
Inside, the new Flow Display and the completely reworked infotainment are the upgrade Porsche has needed for years. The curved OLED flows into the centre console, the system is fast, and for once the software feels as current as the hardware around it.
Spec wise I went with Club leather Espresso, yellow stitching and Alcantara. It turned out better than I had hoped. PCCB is not optional on a car with this much performance, it is a must.
I have been on the never electric side for years. This car has fully convinced me, and the reason is simple. Electric or not, it is undeniably a Porsche
