Let’s hope most of the posts are positive and not as per Macan site - one peddle option, Tesla software / OTA ……
Macan had its fair share of problems and many new customers from different brands. I found majority of posts very helpful though. Of course there are always those who want to be just negative. As for Tesla software on OTA, I like to think this topic has been beaten to death :CWL:

Me too ! We've also covered off one source of the negativity.

Incidentally, I've read that the much praised Volvo EX30 has a severe fire risk so 40,000+ recalls. Similar to Taycan years ago - so Porsche were ahead !

I had an EX30 and quickly sold it because of the battery issue. Just yesterday I received a letter from the US NHTSA, who is responsible for recalls, saying my vehicle was removed from recall because the battery is just fine.

I replaced the EX30 with an Ioniq 5 N until my Cayenne arrives. I do not like the Ioniq 5 N at all as it has what may be the worst seats ever! The EX30 was darn fun to drive even though the handling was floppy. It really boiled down to great vision out of the car and small size, like a poor handling version of the original Miata.

It doesn't give me any satisfaction to read about 40k+ cars being recalled (perhaps only in Europe) but CHP and I had to live through all sorts of criticisms of Porsche and Macan EV's as if no other manufacturer (particularly Tesla's) had EV issues. Hoping this will be a much more helpful and positive experience.

I'm unsure which is "the other active thread". Would like to read the press release.

I also had to sell a Chevy Bolt because of battery fires and an interminible wait for a replacement pack. To make a perfect trifecta I had to sell a Honda Ridgeline truck because it had Takata airbags that could be fatal if deployed. I had convinced my wife it was no big deal then someone died in our town. That was 2018 and within a weekend I had a Chevy Bolt and my EV journey began.

I just visited my dealership (West Houston) and they have a White Base and Monteverde Turbo on display today only. I now see the driver's side buckle has a small plastic frinction clip to maintain position of the buckle on the belt while the passenger side use the loop in the belt to eliminate any vibration on the B-pillar.

I feel the assembly quality of the vehicles was pretty darn nice considering they are pre-production vehicles and destined for the crushinator.

Morning Wivenhoe, thank you very much for the link. That's a must read IMHO. It touches topics beaten to death on Macan forum like recuperation and thermal battery management for quick charging.

Also lot's of other relevant information.
- S and Turbo have different rear engines.
- Cayenne Coupe is basically RWD vs SUV 4WD in "normal" driving (4WD only gets activated under full throttle to be more efficient).
- HD Matrix - they are focusing on long distance illumination (600 m+)
- Passenger display is not OLED. Will have widgets though.
- Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and Audible available as apps. Not sure if they would use phone data plan though.
- Home assistant smart app (not for you Wivenhoe :CWL: )

You’re welcome and glad you found it informative. I’m sure that the in-car apps use the 10gb / month Vodafone Data Allowance which is free for 4 years. As you can see, I use virtually no in-car data per month as I use Apple Music on my phone and the Porsche sat nav.
