Thanks. I'm going to try Admiral again in a few weeks. Will be interesting to see what Admiral want as currently we have the Macan the other car and house on a multi-policy.
Thanks for the tip but as I'm going to put a personal plate on it, hopefully it will be ok to insure beforehand.
I'll...
I tired of you questioning everything on the Macan EV Owners forum when you didn't own a Macan. You are now doing it on the Cayenne Owners Forum - constantly referring to your Taycan - have you actually ordered a Cayenne EV
The extract that you (as normal) questioned and said was wrong was from...
I have a quote from Porsche insurance. I had a call - the agent knew that the Cayenne EV’s were not on the system but they had a ‘workaround’ so I have a quote fixed until mid July. You don’t need a reg so I’m not sure where you got that from.
My dealer said roughly 70% of the cars they sell...
On a different thread some time ago I said that my current insurer (Admiral) declined to insure the Coupe as it was “too new”. I have a fairly competitive quote from Porsche which I’ll probably stick with (cover is far more extensive). I think this is the explanation and UK owners may find this...
I had insurance concerns and I couldn’t justify in my own mind £ 20k for a 1 second quicker car to 60 with exactly the same options. The base is only 0.7s slower to 62 mph than the Macan 4S so I’m fairly sure it won’t be that noticeable for my driving.
I'm really relieved to see a very favourable report of a base, particularly the ride. I was a bit doubtful about ordering a base having a 4S at the moment. Had confirmation today that my Coupe is still scheduled to go in build on the 27th and delivered mid July.
babylou66 - that may be because you are not a buyer from China or the Middle East.
I do wonder how long it will be before there is the infrastructure capable of feeding enough power for say 600kw chargers. I suspect that 400kw will be the max for some time. That's my defence for buying the...
I’ve just received my invite to the Porsche Driving Experience.
I mention this as it seems a bit unusual as I haven’t paid for the car - just the deposit. I got the invite for buying the ‘Macan’ after I had paid and was an owner.
Has anyone else received an invite yet ?
I’m sure you’ve seen this Top Gear video of the Turbo. Just in case ……
I wish there were more Base or S videos - I realise that the 0-60 is very impressive but I very much doubt the majority of cars will be Turbo’s.
Having the VIN means the chassis is allocated to your car and I believe that means the options are attached to that car for the supply chain.
Not long now then, which means we'll be able to get some feedback on actual cars by owners and not reviewers. I made my order conditional on a demo drive...
I believe some dealers are resistant to provide the VIN until delivery - I would ask for it as a check on the options before the build and then hopefully for in App updates on production saving you having to bother them. As you have reached ‘freeze’ I‘m fairly sure your dealer will have the VIN...
Not yet. It's not due to start production in the body shop until 27th May. The time from Eden to Sheerness is only 3 days. Your dealer should have the VIN as you were told build starts in May. Have you asked them for it ?
Once you get the VINyou can check the build spec in the App
The salesman I am dealing with sourced it and sent it to me.
As per last year, when I bought my Macan EV, he provided the same service. It is reassuring to see in the App the spec / options are spot on before the build started.
