These are 3 of my Speedmasters, in order of age and shows the size fashion development. Much though I like the meteorite dial on the latest one it is too big to enjoy wearing, IMO.

It turns out there are only around a dozen of the “racing” version of the speedy this old so it is so valuable I rerely wear it now. The nicest to wear is actually the old triple date which is by far the least valuable.

Yes I used the original that I got in 1971 extensively as a spectating fan and also doing corner times out on the circuit once I had started working in it.
Only accurate to 1/5 sec but it is a button press as well and fine for what i used it for.
Back then the official times were done by people with stopwatches too and often the driver’s wife would be the team timekeeper with 3 watches on a board linked so one button press started one watch stopped the next and zeroed the next so one always had a static reading of the last lap.

I own multiple Grand Seikos (spring drives and mechanical) but never their 9F HAQ models. I wanted to add a high end quartz to my collection but decided to do something different and instead went with one of the 40mm The Citizen Chronomasters ??

Here seen side by side my SBGA413 Shunbun ? with spring drive movement.

Both titanium
Both 40mm
Both 100M WR
Both quartz regulated
Both Zaratsu polishing

But while the GS has some enjoyable mechanical component with a display case back, the Citizen has some built in lume, a full perpetual calendar, and solar powered Eco Drive which will never require batteries ??

Probably the ultimate 'throw it on, GADA watch'

Bit of a chrono junkie - Omega Seamaster 300 Diver, Blancpain Flyback and Zenith Class 4.

Mostly wear a Garmin at the moment though.

My purchases from the past 2 years - AP Royal Oak, Vacheron Patrimony and Patek Calatrava. However I mostly wear a Rolex datejust II that my parents gave me as an amazing 21st present.

I have been actively collecting watches since 2013, would always buy a few a year (not necessarily keeping them all), but I think the experience of the past few years has really put me off.

Citizen was my grandfather's favorite watch to wear and he gave me one of his Citizen watches to me
