Typical politicians.... Add a tax but don't remove the tax break.
Overcomplicate to make them needed.
And as if the US cares about car weights with trucks being the biggest seller.
Which US EV weighs 3x more than a US ICE car.
Trump and his minions are f*cking idiots.
Disagree.
Audi and Porsche have as big problems as VW.
Residuals are through the floor and the problems with their initial products are legion. This is really hurting them on both gens of the Taycan and now the Macan IMO.
There are plenty of things they can do about this if they want...

They, and German manufacturing generally, have been living in the past for a while and refusing to budge.
This has only not hit home much sooner because of their cheap energy deals which also came home to roost.
There are plenty of other markets that will always be cheaper to manufacture...
G-wagons are one of those cars that I've always liked the thought of, but just like Landrover Defenders I reckon trying one might be a "never meet your hero" type scenario (not that I'd ever call a 4x4 a hero car for me).
Your post prompted me to have a look as I wasn't aware there was an...
Very nice.
Have had a Class 4 El Primero for around 20yrs. Beautiful, underrated watches. (Shame Zenith went through a phase of bling/trying to hard.... But they seem to be back on terra firma now).
I traded my 997.2 C4S when I bought the Taycan as knew it would get little use.
Had it 5yrs and put 40k miles on it in all weathers.
Lovely cars. Glad I've owned one. But not as much of a wrench to see it go as some others I've had (incl. B7 RS4 which went at the same time).
Very nice cars...
£200k or more.
Was vaguely interested until the price was noted.
Also, however, 2 doors are a pita with a family... Especially in a Maser as the seats take half an hour to move out of the way (I owned a GT for a couple of years ?).
Also an IWC fan :) Only have an old one though.
Bit of a chrono junkie - Omega Seamaster 300 Diver, Blancpain Flyback and Zenith Class 4.
Mostly wear a Garmin at the moment though.
;)
The narrative is that we don't have the time to do this via osmosis. So some interventions are going to be necessary. (At the risk of me sounding like a flat-earther, I'm a bit more of the view that Gaia will flatten us out irrespective of what we do, as our parasitic tendencies go...
Government stepping in to provide reliable information?
Biggest joke of the year ?
People don't like change. What the govt need to do is stop mucking about with deadlines, and stop the charging networks price gouging on public chargers.
From there, let the market sort itself.
There'll always...
I've never seen cars as "aspirational" aside from wanting them because of how they drive, function, look, sound etc.
Veyron's etc hold no attraction for me. On any of those fronts sadly.
Car I miss the most is my F355.
Fantastic cars.
(It did used to make me think cars were getting too wide though... And it's a few cm narrower than a Taycan).
Loved my 911 and am loving the Taycan. But they're more... "utilitarian" in nature.
