You say subjective, I say hideous. You honestly think an interior like this would appeal to US buyers?
Unlike you I don't claim to know what 300 million people will do or won't do.

I reported some facts, you turned those facts into opinions based on your own biases and experiences. The very fact you can't grasp this simple concept of fact vs opinion is more a mark on the American education system than anything.

Ironic you lambast Chinese products while using a Chinese made phone, computer and God knows what else lol

We have a member on here who lives in China (cant remember who ?).
It would be interesting getting his take on things over there.

I do think in Europe at least, we are going to see a tidal wave of them.

For example, In one of those pics I posted above, Chery (never heard of them) say they are going to open 50 dealerships in the UK next year and double the year after. That's quite a lot in a small country like the UK.

Traditional manufacturers may end up playing catch up, especially if the Chinese cars are cheap.

I see cars becoming like Android phones. Lots of different ones on the road and no idea which is which really.
Just imo.

I was chatting with my uber driver and he said BYD's best selling model now sells 10,000 units per month in China ONLY (not all BYD, just 1 model). I can't imagine their production capacity.

They will crash the market the minute they ll offer a van with 4/500 miles range. In Europe It will take some time before they can sell 90-100k plus cars.
Anything between 0 and Tesla price could possibly become Chinese in no time.
I don’t feel for European Car makers. They deserve what is coming.

Thank you for your objective reporting unlike those who fail to see what’s happening in other countries and rely solely on biased media reports to form an opinion on another country, what happens in that country, what that country is capable of and how the citizens live.

Yeah, in 1985. :CWL:

The interior of my 2007 Avalanche was a Rolls Royce compared to that hideous Chinese garbage. If the Chinese are stupid enough to export that mess to the US, I’m sure they’ll sell like coldcakes.

Btw, it’s funny that you pick the US made car with the absolute worst interior (Jeep) as your benchmark for that Chinese junk.
It is rather unfortunate that the words you chose seem rather basic and elementary. But you have achieved your purpose in offending me and my people.

I'm not sure what it's like now (and the sales charts indicate things might have changed), but when I went to China back in 2018 my tour guide basically said Chinese people consider Chinese cars and brands to be garbage (and my tour guide was Chinese before someone says it was a westerner with a biased view).

They have a very materialistic outlook on things and it was considered an embarrassment if someone in your family bought a Chinese car. In the big cities there was an absolutely absurd number of high end cars; Porsche, Ferrari and Lambos as far as the eye could see. The tour guide said people bought those as pure status symbols and half of the people with those cars were living in ghettos and had absolutely nothing to their name, they simply bought a luxury car to create the appearance that they had money.

Last time I was in China was also 2018 and I have to say the country has jumped ahead 25 years in the last 5. It's now completely unrecognizable. I used to go to China frequently for business and even I'm shocked at the speed they're developing.

Subways now take payment by facial recognition. Train tickets are linked directly to your national ID so you just scan the bar code and board. Forget about amazon prime, I can order groceries and it's delivered within the hour. I shipped a few items home and the courier came to my hotel within the hour, packed everything in their own boxes and took it away, all I had to do was text them the address. Street parking use wechat that automatically records the time you parked and departed and takes payment directly.

Before people complain about privacy... When I lived on London I heard something like the average Londoner appears on CCTV 7 times on their way to work

It is rather unfortunate that you take a criticism of a piece of metal and plastic as an affront to your people. Sensitive much?

I didn’t say the Chinese people were garbage, I said the car in those pics was garbage. I think the Pontiac Aztec was pure hot garbage. That does not mean I think the American people who built it are garbage. See the difference?

Do you think the Chinese are above criticism?

Criticism is free. You are free to criticize a product. Any consumer has the right to review and criticize a product.
Case in point, you mentioned the Pontiac Aztec as hot garbage, but is it “American Garbage “ ?
You may think BYD cars are garbage which is fine, but is it “Chinese Junk” or “Chinese Garbage” ? I beg to differ.
See the difference?
Or perhaps it is my limited education and command of English that is playing tricks with my eyes in seeing things differently?

What gives you the background to critise this piece of metal and plastic? Have you been in one? Have you driven one? Have you even been to China?

All you voiced is highly biased, out-dated and personal opinion which you pedal as fact.

Eric replied with incredible restraint. You need to go reflect on how you conduct yourself in a forum of highly successful individuals from around the world.

In my experience, now and again people are better proofreaders in languages they have learned later in life, precisely because native speakers subconsciously gloss over words (including mistakes).

Especially given what I hear as the tone of later responses, here is what I think may have happened: @Archimedes did not consciously intend the phrase "Chinese garbage" to be interpreted as an insult to China or Chinese people. Upon realizing that it could very reasonably be read as such, though, they got defensive and decided to go for the "it's your fault for getting offended" strategy.
