It also wasn't clear that the Taycan owner is overly familiar with the car. Never saw/heard an inside shot during drag race indicating he used launch control.
Nor what each cars SoC was at start. Very heavily cut video. Brooks promises a new test done in more controlled settings.
But again, I think the only way this got so close was Tesla pushed I believe 2 performance s/w updates after seeing the Taycan. I wonder if they are over extending their battery and reducing life? Only time will tell.

nevertheless it’s still impressive. I own both, a Model SP100D and a Taycan Turbo S. In no moment theTesla feels slow, but in no moment it feels faster than the Taycan too. So I’d expect the Taycan to beat it 10/10 times... especially given the pricetag and brand difference. But alas, the Tesla did steal a victory or two.
I’m actually thinking seriously of redoing this same test myself as I still cannot believe this...
