The i4 RWD is an excellent choice if you don’t need the extra traction or power of the M50.
But not BMW and VAG are not slated for TSCN until 2025.

(not to mention that it's borderline ugly).
That…except “borderline” is being way too kind. The Benz EQs look like some ugly jelly beans procreated.

FWIW: I test drove both the EQE and the I5, both cars are have their quirks.
IMHO the MB has a nicer interior but over all it is souless, it was a RWD car that lacked the ommph that most other EVs have. the car is quiet and the ride is smooth as can be.
the BMW, I40 edition looks like a fairly traditional car, has a bit of zip to it and the cabin appears to be a bit larger than the MB. the car utilitarian and would serve well as a daily drive.

neither car offers the performance or panache of the taycan and after driving those other cars I am tempted to buy out the lease and drive the taycan a few more years.

the polestar is not in play.

lastly I am waiting for the chance to test out the Lucid, other than the car being a potential orphan and lack of service infrastructure it looks to be compelling on paper.

I couldn't find any replacement EV at present other than Taycan. It ticks all my boxes. The badge, quality, look and comfort is my priority.

Did a test drive in a eqs 580 this week. Silver like my CT. I like the look. Interior and seating is great. MBUX with hyperscreen and augmented reality works really well. Makes PCM look like a Commodore 64. Driving is so smooth and so silent. It was amazing for me and an eye opener. So relaxing but still fast. In my CT I hear the electric engines all the time. And also the road noise. I even wonder again if it is normal in my car. With 10 degrees rws and airmatic it is stable and agile. The 580 is fast, up to a point it doesn’t really need it. 450 would be sufficient. I can get a new full option 580 standing a the dealer with 45000 rebate. Around 135.000 now. Seriously tempted but they updated in 2024 with heat pump, engine decoupling boosting the range even more. Two charge stops on my holiday trips in stead of 4. They will take 30 minutes but in my experience that is what we do anyway during holiday.
