but will sell current and retooled ICE Cayenne/Hybrid along side new Cayenne - just like Macan EV

should be fun to watch!
Ye of little faith.. ?

We’re not done with ICE for a long while. For the vast majority on transportation needs (as in trips/scenarios), EVs and even current infrastructure are sufficient, but outside of those they are simply outmatched.

I find it unbelievable, time and time again, how energy-dense gas is; but no wonder - it’s the product of an immense amount of matter (plants etc) and energy (solar) being compressed for millennia by gravity (another source of infinite energy). Also, no wonder it’s so toxic.

I applaud Porsche’s commitment to electrification- they said they would, and they are delivering - well, okay, working towards it. Their two highest volume models will soon be EV or PHEV. I can’t imagine what the world will look like when the energy density of batteries will begin approaching that of gas (volumetric): most of today’s vehicles gone or retrofitted, an industry of tens of millions fully retrained/reprofiled, clean air.. there’ll still be Chevy Bolts, but that’s okay - endearing examples of a past when we’d charge on the road and waited for 1 of 4 chargers available.

It really depends; in EU it will be same story as with the Macan.
EV only; ICE is dead already for new cars.

Nobody is going to release brand new ICE plaforms anymore, since 2/3 biggest markets in the world are EV only: EU & China.

How many people will choose to pay in USA 50-90.000 for a 10 year old car platform, just o have a ICE Macan / Cayenne instead of paying the equivalent for a brand new electric platform?
