I'm in the same boat. I think I'm going to put down a deposit in Sept once the new configurator is out.Waiting for new options as automatic doors, rse or massage seats…
I’ve heard the opposite from 3 diff dealers so I’m hoping that isn’t true haha. 2 of those guys just came back from Denver for the Cayenne Electric orientation and had been told it would be available in the Sept Configurator for MY 27.Good luck with the wait - my dealer is insistent that massage seats will not be available to select at all this year. He might have said that to preserve his sale.
What is the automatic doors option that you are hoping for please, and what is RSE?
I thought automatic doors (soft close, automatic opening and closing through seatbelts, single touch, and the PCM) were already standard.
I hope that seat ventilation (and possibly massage seats) will be available with the Race-Tex Pepita option. Currently only the Taycan offers these features with non-leather seats. For the electric Macan and Cayenne/Cayenne Coupe these options are only available with leather and not fabric seats.
Automatic doors are is in my opinion a big risk to take, especially with Porsche. Porsche had plenty of issues with their electric charging ports when they were first introduced, and it took around five years before those problems were largely ironed out, haha. I wouldn't have much confidence in electric doors on their very first implementation, especially since they're another feature that's bound to have the occasional fault or failure.
Here's a demo of it in the Cayenne Electric Coupe. MY 26 for the Cayenne doesn't have this.
Thanks. I had not appreciated that and assumed it was standard from the off.

The automatic doors were an option when I configured my Cayenne back in december, I remember briefly they had it up for about £1500. This is the reason why I became so reluctant to actually option it from the get go.Thanks. I had not appreciated that and assumed it was standard from the off.
Soft close doors are a £546 option for the MY27 Taycan in the UK, so I assume automatic doors will be a similar cost or more for the Cayenne. (I know this because I currently have multiple configs since I have not yet decided between a Taycan and Cayenne Coupe!).
I have automatic charging ports on my MY21 Taycan. I have never once had an issue in >30k miles. I would prefer the option for automatic doors if available, notwithstanding the possibility of failure.
Ouch! I would have to think again at that price. The automatic doors were an option when I configured my Cayenne back in december, I remember briefly they had it up for about £1500. This is the reason why I became so reluctant to actually option it from the get go.
