Yes, the situation really does seem confusing. From what people are reporting in Porsche groups and forums, several orders for the Porsche Cayenne are experiencing sudden delays, especially the standard SUV versions that were already confirmed and paid for.

The strange part is that your delivery was moved from late May to September, while at the same time they are apparently opening “slots” for July deliveries on the Porsche Cayenne Coupé. That makes it look more like a production planning/configuration issue rather than a simple shipping delay.

And honestly, it feels very similar to the chaos in 2024 with the Porsche Taycan and the Porsche Macan: changing dates, revised allocations, and dealerships receiving different information week after week.

From what is being reported:

the Coupé versions currently seem to have a smoother production pipeline;
some SUV configurations with specific options appear to be frozen or rescheduled;
many customers are receiving completely new ETDs (estimated delivery dates) within just a few days.

As for the most important point: yes, a few of the new Cayennes have apparently already been physically delivered, but they seem to be mostly dealer demos or very early allocations. There still doesn’t appear to be a large wave of normal customer deliveries, which you would expect if production were actually stable.

Taycan had the same drama since 2020 and I experienced it twice. Stop sales due to software issues, TPMS shortage, semi- conductor shortages, HV heaters, wars (cable harness came from Ukraine), supplier fires and so on.

Sorry to hear of the SUV version delays — at least to some markets, with coupe versions moving forward there. In the U.S. however, while there are already 50 SUV Cayennes scheduled for arrival starting in July (all on the Cayenne finder site), at of yesterday there was not yet one coupe versions listed.
