In the context of a vehicle, is there any reason to reference Cd by itself and not as a value that includes area? Seems a bit like saying “miles per gallon….per pound”, ignoring that vehicles have a fixed weight and aren’t the same. Like an intentionally less useful number. Unless there are uses...
What are worse ways to adjust the volume than a knob?
I’ll take “Worse Ways to do Something Simple” for $400, Alex.
Lol….I’m not even answering that. Like I haven’t stated it half a dozen times….?
I adjust volume frequently enough that I don’t find the touch screen replacement for a knob to be a positive change.
That’s silly…
So, if they moved the volume controls to the trunk and I complained, that would just be me not adapting, right?
Or can we debate the merits of individual design...
I said no such thing. If you think I did, please quote it.
Relevant conversation below, up to your response you reference.
Note that my initial comment was that almost everything is on the touch screen and there is no volume knob, and I explicitly excluded the steering wheel. I didn’t give a...
I don’t know if it can be saved, as that’s not really my biggest problem with it.
I agree with @Fish Fingers that toggling between focused and diffused is easy enough.
The individual settings have two issues though.
One is the difficulty of adjustment. I can adjust manual louvers without...
Couldn’t be more convenient? Is it the pinnacle of convenience then?
I disagree.
A dial of some sort would absolutely be more convenient. Or perhaps you’d prefer a touch screen on the steering wheel for volume buttons instead of your wheel?
I remember, around 2008, I put nothing but touch...
Homelink is super confusing.
Half the time when I press the button the garage door opens and half the time I press the button the garage door closes.
Who knows which one is correct! ?♂️
I generally recommend one not type when driving. But to each their own.
Yeah, but Porsche, for whatever reason, put the steering wheel all of the way over by the driver, which makes that volume wheel awfully inconvenient for the passenger to reach….
It’s not really an either/or though as my Macan has both (as do, I imagine, many other cars).
Whatever that reason is…Porsche didn’t have it for the Taycan. Almost everything is touch screen! Even the vent direction! There isn’t even a volume knob! (I don’t count the steering wheel)
It’s actually mostly all really functional (IMO), but the volume knob and vent direction drive me nuts.
The camera use (or lack thereof) as described is not a bug. it's just not a feature that is offered (something one would be able to know prior to purchasing), and has nothing to do with whether or not the software works well.
I live in the middle of the US where every other vehicle is a big truck. My wife always makes fun of them for driving these big truck around everywhere with no cargo. Ever. Like walking around with an empty suitcase all day. ?
I have an SUV, but I use it for work frequently and have to pack...
I love Lotus, but I have to be worried about the dealer network and support. I know some people have issues with their dealers, but mine has always been good to me.
Local Lotus dealers have come and gone….at least around here.
Just to clarify; thats not my truck. It was a work truck I had at home after driving back from from a trip.
But I think the Silverado is probably quite a bit longer. I think the one in the pic has a little over 9’ bed. I can’t fit it in any single parking space lengthwise.
That Hummer sure...
Not the same, but here it is with an H2. The site doesn’t have the Hummer EV yet.
Here’s a pic of the our car in front of a Silverado 3500. It’s hard to see the size diff because of the perspective with the Taycan in front, but the red lines I drew are the front and back of the truck.
I don’t dispute you’ve experienced abnormal issues with your car; I just dispute that there are significant differences between the EV and ICE porches in this regard. What you are talking about now is generational, not drive trains. The 992 has a similar if not same PCM and while the 992.1 still...
