Or they will fill a portion of the production with robots, probably including some humanoid robots to work along side of humans. That could dilute the human labor costs. New company will not have a union contract preventing automation at the start.
It's not just the "smartphone on wheels" features that the legacy auto makers like Porsche are falling back on, it's other things too:

Glimmer of hope for German automakers, even...
Sales of ICE are also up because they announced their discontinuation, so dealers and speculators are stocking up, hoping to cash in once there are no 718's on sale at all. Planned scarcity is one way to boost sales.
Of course you're not wrong on the Porsche EV pricing. Perhaps it's the latest...
Most internet connected nav systems load tiles as you drive. Typically only the engineer debugging the map code wants to see that the next set of tiles loaded successfully. Customers don't care, since it is not actionable, nor does it have any value. It does however distract the driver.
I never set that up. Funny how you think there is something actually deciding on which reminders to show, rather than just random probability of the code working or not, i.e. reminder shows up when the software works, it doesn't when the software fails.
Yea, hard to miss with Porsche. On a trip the damned thing keeps on dinging every time it loads the next map tile, because it's a really important thing for the driver to know (and have to hit OK to dismiss the notification, it even has a read it outloud option, but you have to hit a button...
Sure they will, even if only slapping Porsche logos and "suspension tuned by German engineers" on other manufacturer's vehicles. It wouldn't be the first time VWAG has done that.
In my experience, women change their minds often, sometimes even denying they ever thought differently. Maybe your wife is an exception to that rule. ;)
I think range in EV's is similar to off-road capabilities in SUVs. Buyers claim they want it all, 4x4, armored plate under the car, self-inflating tires, transmissions which can drive for hours on a 30+ degree grade, snorkel air intake to drive through a meter deep river, external fuel tank on...
I've read so many people complaining about EV range, how "range is king", and yet they don't all go buy Lucid Airs with massive range. Nor do we see most Cybertruck owner shelling out for the range extender for the additional 120 miles of range. Very few people actually need more than 200 miles...
Paranoia is not a bad thing to have. However, if you think those same Chinese companies have not compromised non-Chinese manufacturers, you'd be letting your guard down and having a major blind spot. Remember, US government has for a long time been fighting end-to-end encryption, insisting on...
