Why not take a plane if you're in such a rush that stopping for 20-30m every 3-4hrs makes a big difference to you? You cab buy a small aircraft for the price of a loaded Taycan Turbo S. You will save more time with the plane over a 14hr ICE car trip than you will with ICE over EV.
So what you're saying is you were unable to find people loving Teslas on the internet forums, YouTube, etc? Or are you just saying that some people dislike Tesla? If the latter, I gotta tell you, there are some people on the internet who dislike Porsche too. So what?
You can find both love and hate for Tesla online - quite a lot of both. Until Taycan, a Model S was much more fun to drive every day. Even when the Taycan first came out, I didn't like it as much because it was not practical as only car with a family (CT solved that) and the very first Taycan...
First, cardboard cutout takes more afford than wedging and orange or a beer can in the steering wheel.. Cardboard cutouts also don't fool IR sensors. Additionally, I've seen some demos of such driver monitoring ( Merc S class was one of them) and it even figures out where you are looking (e.g...
That is not what you wrote sounds like:
Unless of course your claim is that you are the only person in the world to whom "a Taycan is an ideal car". ;)
That might very well be true. Does that explain however why you presumed that if you are not interested in autonomy, nobody else for whom a...
It really depends on how it's implemented, but I bet even not great implementation of eye monitoring is harder to fool than a torque sensor which can be fooled with a simple weight (e.g. famous orange wedged into Model 3 steering wheel). Advanced version could be next to impossible to fool...
I was referring to Level 5 autonomy and whether people would be interested in it on cars like Taycan - IMO absolutely. Tesla FSD is an early stage experiment. I have to give credit to Elon though, it's no small feat getting people to pay thousands of dollars to test his stuff, genius.
You guys don't gave gridlock in the UK, have ample free, secure parking with EV charginf at all airports, have free rides for your kids whenever they want to go somewhere with their friends, etc? Or do you simply enjoy driving in traffic, etc?
Why? I'd love to drive the Taycan to the airport and have it drive itself home, then summon it when I'm back. Or maybe take a nap or do a call when stuck in traffic. Or even send the car a day ahead when I'm traveling somewhere for a week and I would prefer to fly somewhere and car meet me...
You have to pay close attention to what Elon actually says. For example, when the Model S P85D came out in 2014, Elon called it a "700hp car" and Tesla listed the "motor power" at 691hp. A few years later, after a lawsuit, Tesla finally admitted that the battery limits (including a fuse) the...
Interesting that you would say eTron is a Taycan competitor but Lucid or Model S is not. Personally I've been driving Model S's since 2013, now looking to get a Taycan CT, but if eTron GT RS had a hatch, I might have gone for that instead. I'm not really considering Lucid but that is primarily...
THAT ^^
I still have an old Model S with Ludicrous mode and pretty much never floor the car from stand still, as it means everything in the car that is not tied down or stowed away goes flying into the back seat. I leave most cars from the lights without the accelerator hitting the floor. On...
