The optimist in me says: It's nice to not have a me-too car on the roads. The pessimist says: Eek, I hope they continue to support the car and don't kill software updates.

Taycan is in a niche market with only itself in three variants as competition, and everyone who wants one (and does have the funds) has one. The total sales number is quite impressive for a car that nobody really needs.

On a positive note, the September sales figures in Germany (from the KBA = DMV) have the facelifted Taycan being the best selling car in it’s market segment (the upper class segment) which represents an 11.2 % increase over last year’s figures and includes ICEs in a generally still depressed market for BEVs in Germany.

Registrations are not necessarily sales. Last time I looked there was a couple of hundred J1.2 cars in UK dealers, plus some j1.

Yesterday I was on the road quite a bit in the North of the UK (around York, A19 but not just there) and saw at least 3 or 4 facelifted Taycans (not all at once, but throughout my travels) which I thought was interesting…of course this is by no means representative, just an observation.

I should add that I don’t think that bulk of new registrations on the KBA are pre-registrations but these tend to reflect the sales trends closely. I would furthermore remark that the main German-language Porsche Forum has a dedicated thread on the Taycan facelift’s waiting times experienced suggesting that we are not looking at an oversupply issue there.

No Surprise. The Taycan experience has been a black eye in the face of the Porsche Brand and quality image. They really starting selling a beta car in 2020 and its coming back to hurt sales. IMHO of course.
