These videos are not for us, current Taycan owners. They are for future taycan owners, and it sends the message well: "Stay away from this shit show"

Porsche has a massive reliability issue with the taycan, that is very visible to potential buyers. And they don't seem to care enough to address it.

I am a 2023 taycan ct 4s owner amend pretty happy with the car although have had some problems that for now are all fixed. My sincere thought if Porsche wants taycan owners to keep buying a Porsche they need to find a way that the value of the taycans improve and not lose 50 percent in two yrs if they want most of these customers to buy another car. I for one will never buy any Porsche until they fix this problem.

What next car brand or model are you contemplating to replace your Taycan?

Bleh, another click bait video. Can we please just all agree to not comment on these threads anymore
Agree.

People make a video designed to shock, solely in order to get as many views as possible.

This works and the depreciation of Taycans continues to worsen.

So effectively, it's money moving directly from us (owners) to them (YT tw@ts).

I just view them like a pickpocket on a street corner and give them all a miss.

Big shocked face ? / DRAMATIC HEADLINE!!!! = step away.

Well I also thought like that… but got bmw i5m60 now (used to have Taycan 4S) :D
I have also been looking at one of these. Great alternative to a Taycan in my mind. Test drove one the other week and at present in negotiation with a dealer. Great car and great technology with quite a few good deals going now. One of the best driving cars I have tested after the Taycan. My Taycan is a better drivers car and charges faster for long road trips, IF and WHEN it is not at the dealer for recalls, finding water ingress, heater repairs, HV Battery controller etc etc.

Experienced a very basic i4 that we used for 11,000 km drive this summer, and that was fantastic. No issues with connectivity, roaming etc etc.

The only spanner in the deal at the moment is a pending test drive of the new M5 Hybrid? I so much miss my F10 M5 Competition, that I had for 8 years. Not a single beat went wrong in some 60,000 km. Only at dealer for scheduled service and always provided with a great loaner to test drive.

Porsche at best gave me a clapped out Audi A1 with a burnt out clutch! One of the most prestigious dealer on the Riviera. Else taxi ride home.

Yes, Taycan is a very driver’s car. One sits very low and has excellent steering feedback. Though, I was also a bit afraid of getting frustrated with how bmw drives. But it didn’t happen after using it a bit. It’s sporty and comfortable enough. It feels more powerful as well (well + 30hp and +200nm compared to 4S). It also drives well with its m adaptive professional suspension (active antiroll bars, rear steering, etc). After a couple of drives you get used to that. Talking about the tech pack - it’s just outstanding. I got all the professional packages one can get there and it just blows my mind. Still I loved my taycan and may return at some point when I need a new car. I don’t want to pay for facelift as one gets pretty much the same car for more money.

PS one still has to remember that Taycan is a sports car while i5m60 is a sport business sedan
PPS I’ve been using bmw for a week now and I’m still impressed how big that shuttle is compared to Taycan :D

Regarding charging - right, Taycan is one the best fast charging cars. But I had >90% charging done at home. So I suppose it shouldn’t be a big issue. Let’s see

If your use case is with so much home charging, it will be no issue at all. I only compared it to the i4, but I understand now that i4 has a different battery and charging curve to i5.

I have tried to compare long trip plans in ABRP and Taycan is certainly one of the best optimised cars for that. Charges very fast, and J1.2 looks to improve further on that.

Good luck with your i5M60!

None, as I am not changing cars like socks. Will run this one until 2028 the least. No need to replace it, as it wasn't "an investment", and it works just fine.

Would it be better without a battery recall every few months and an infotainment system faster than a 90 year old grandpa with Alzheimer? Yes, yes it would be better.

And in 2028, the EV landscape will be vastly different.

But looking at how the market progresses, it will likely be the next generation of BYD U9.

Or who knows, maybe the Cayman EV will be so good, that all my sense will leave me, and I will get that. Highly highly highly doubt it.

And definitively never again first generation EVs.
