I'll just hang out here until the year in this screen shot changes…we should be close - factory is in August shutdown - and when they re-open in Sept. they normally would begin production of +1 model-year (2027) - configurator should be online any day now…
drove the Cayenne Turbo EV
want the Cayenne Turbo EV
love the Cayenne Turbo EV
car is good - nuance is not required - it's _AT LEAST_ as good as my current Cayenne in all factors/driving dynamic's - probably better in a number of ways - there is no downside other than the 💰
will have to wait...
Gory Gory details/history/speculation below…read on if you want to solve your insomnia problem…
Porsche has a long history of "confusion" and 'factual errors" when it comes to "max charging" speeds with their EV/Hybrids in North America
_ALL_ mobile chargers (EVSEs) in North America are max...
this is my $0.02 YMMV
tldr; save more than $11k (option price, tax, registration fees) on your Cayenne EV build by not optioning brakes that will only be used 3% of the time - Porsche's own data/claims.

ummm - fix the half-baked NACS charging port - allow both FastDC and L1/L2 AC charging?
I have no delusions on this - earliest would most likely be 2028 or later…and my bet is on "later" - {sigh} this is probably going to be embarrassing for Cayenne owners until the...
for long time Porsche EV victims the saga of Porsche's confusion regarding the actual limits of their standard OBC (on board charger) and the regional limitations they have chosen (for undisclosed reasons) to enforce are a comedy or tragedy depending on your perspective.

To date Prosche has shipped a "flawed" EVSE in North America - there have been several "similar" EVSE's shipped since the original 918 Spyder and Panamera/Cayenne eHybrid -these have been known by various names:
Porsche Mobile Charger
Porsche Model Charger +
Porsche Mobile Connect Charger...
way too much going on and I didn't pay close enough attention - and was lacking a paddock pass - but was at the Monaco F1 race this past weekend and enjoy'd the PORSCHE Supercup race - all the teams had ICE Cayenne's as support vehicle's while they were in the pits prepping for their race - but...
was picking up my 2021 Cayenne TurboS eHybrid from service today - complete hybrid battery replaced under warranty - car is good now

hmmmm…
I have a 2021 Cayenne Hybrid w/massage seats
I had a 2020 Taycan w/massage seats
I have a 2024 Macan EV w/massage seats
the current configurator has no massage seat options and they are not listed in standard equipment
honestly - this is a deal breaker for me - hopefully they will add...
given that the MTBF on the Taycan OBC 19.2 kW units is about 12 seconds (and is/was under recall, was unavailable for replacement, was then available again, then it wasn't, and then Porsche would reimburse for a downgrade, and then was no longer offered, and to this day is still absent as an...
TLDR; EV's (yes even the Cayenne EV) don't have enough stamina on track to warrant PCCB's - and for non-track use 98% percent of deceleration is handled by regen in normal driving (Porsche's words not mine)…
this makes PCCB's a huge cosmetic exercise vs. an actual stopping the vehicle exercise...
Based on my Macan Experience - I believe the Cayenne EV will be a strong EV offering for North American customers with well integrated Supercharger Support and native NACS fast charging port…

given Porsche's recent facination with pricing themselves out of competition and their general lack of enthusiasm for things EV…this could be a replacment for my Cayenne Hybrid in 2026/2027…and I hate the Lucid Air - but bring me Lucid Saphire driving dynamic's with SUV class space (120...

all I can say is "yep" - and most of the industry still doesn't understand over a decade later…
I hate the cyber truck - but once again Tesla is pushing boundaries and will probably "leak" into other product and the industry at large
some of the building blocks of this truck are more interesting than the truck itself - 800V (like Taycan), steering by wire, safety considerations...
