I agree with everything you wrote, especially your thoughts on the SAAS sales model analogy and that the auto industry is in for a wild ride in the next few years. I also think that Porsche could come out smelling like a rose if the industry goes the way I think it will go.

It is a close call between the $30K Bolt and the $85K iX. I'd give the Bolt the edge simply because GM omitted the pathetic blue plastic trim pieces that BMW feels compelled to slap on anything and everything electric.
Had BMW put just a little more cheap plastic cladding on the rocker panels, they could have given the Pontiac Aztek some competition for ugliest SUV ever. And the little crystal touches on the interior: lipstick on a pig, nothing more.
