Driving it like you stole it takes on a whole new raft of consequences now . . .
My first Model X (one of the first delivered) was amazing. Good build quality, great seats, outstanding all around. My next ones sucked. Build quality went way down and felt all around less solid. Gone were the cool 2nd row seats, and the benefit of folding them down never helped me. Service is...
Apart definitely from Singer and maybe Ruf, these aftermarket kits and "upgrades" to 911s always seem to miss the point to me. The very best thing about Porsche is balance and connection, and useable horsepower. These kits "seem" to miss that point (I obviously haven't driven this one) and...
From my experience, three factors largely drive the dealer experience: (1) the profit margin (and demand) for the vehicles that the dealer sells (dealer margins on most cars are far lower than you might think); (2) your personal relationship with employees of the dealership (e.g., are you a nice...
I haven't owned an AMG, but I have driven a few for brief periods. My impression is that they have become the modern European version of a muscle car. Fun in a way but not a balanced car in any way. The reason I personally like Porsches is that I find them, on the whole, to be remarkably...
I know, that’s what I said! Next Porsche commercial: “Kommen Sie am Ende einer langen Nacht “wildin’ with the boys” sicher nach Hause (get home safely after a long night of getting crunk with the boys). Gibt es ein besseres Familienauto?” (Is there a better family car)?
Well, maybe, but I'm more "impressed" by the fact that the car could drive as fast as it was driving when the front left wheel was not rotating at all!
How far could it have gotten? Couldn't you just follow the gouges in the road?
Or medical emergency . . . might not have even realized that they hit and run immediately if they really were having a serious episode . . . Might find out later that person passed away from heart attack, stroke or something else . . . or more likely were just crunk.
I mean, you can't hide that kind of damage for long, especially not on a Taycan.
I can imagine a new thread "Any idea if this is totaled? I hit a very bad pothole . . ."
it it weren't for the fact that this was likely a drunk/sleepy/high driver, it would be low-key hilarious. I mean, after hitting two cars, the driver calmly stops at the redlight, USES HIS OR HER TURN SIGNAL, before driving away. I swear I heard the driver muttering "D@mned Innodrive"!

Yup, the Porsche Performance Roof Box comes with a cover two pairs of gloves, and a Porsche crest sticker, although I don't know where or why I would use that! Since I have the cover, I might as well use it!
No way! I use the roof box only once every other month so those ugly bars come off...
99% finished. Roof top box lift installed and it fits, albeit just barely. Also installed retractable power source and air pump. Now just details to resolve. I’m pretty happy with how it has turned out.
I did make one rookie error by storing cross bars in the roof box, which means I’m going...
98% finished now that artwork is up. All that is left is the power-lift for roof box, along with roof mounted power source and roof mounted air, all of which will be installed on Tuesday.
I would have the space. Yes, I have the box. True, I worry a bit about storing sideways, but I could store it horizontally and then rotate it on the way down.
Also, what if you put a ring on the strap attached to the XL and then attached the box to the strap using the mounting hooks on the...
Thank you. You interpreted my intent correctly. For the straps, I sketched the difference between what you are doing and what I might try. I could get rotation with mine, but I’m not sure I care. In fact, I could get it closer to the car if I hang it with the bottom of the box vertically...
Yes, I seriously looked at that, but that would be about another $5K AND I would have to relocate all of the electrical work (and the chargers between the doors), so I just don't think it would be worth it, particularly because my current setup has new springs and seems to work fine.
@satchurator and all: Quick question please. As you look at my garage configuration, it seems to me that I have two choices with respect to placement of the XL lift:
1. I could install it as close to the center as possible so that the box would lower without hitting the garage opener belt...
