I think it may have more to do with the current dealer model. With the movement to all EV's and their low maintenance requirements with the resulting reduced needs for service calls, and the huge overhead of the current dealer model, something has to give.

Porsche did not get it wrong. It got there first so had to design and build a whole bunch of new stuff. Right out of the box, it was at least as competitive and often better than anything that was out there. But time moves on. The comparison is not with old Tesla's. It's with the new stuff...

The Taycan's battery and power train have only been around for 2 years. It takes years to really get the efficiencies up as Tesla has. I think we need to wait for Gen 2 of the Taycan to see if there are benefits. In the meantime Lucid could be the sign of things to come. 900v architect and...

You need to stand back to see the big picture. Tesla has been making 400v batteries for many years and has a highly developed power train that is very efficient with those batteries. Porsche introduced 800v batteries only a couple of years ago which required them to design and build a whole...

So this is an electric car and all of its functions are controlled by software. The opposite of simple. So does Porsche do a competent job handling this?

My rant. I have had it. Love the car, but I won't buy another Taycan until Porsche gets the software (all of it) fixed. And I won't recommend the car to anyone else either. Spoke to a young lady looking at trading her Maserati for a Taycan. Sorry, not a good idea. Lot's of alternatives out...

Fascinating. Never heard about this. So if someone were to buy a Plaid with FSD and drive it like they advertise, FSD wouldn't be turned on. Have to watch when MSM starts reporting on this. Heard it here first.
