Driving review - Taycan GTS versus RS e-tron GT

Driving review - Taycan GTS versus RS e-tron GT

I find the discussion about Audi RS E-tRon understeer to be interesting. I cant imagine a road scenario where this could be tested. My 4S CT (albeit with the full performance package) cant easily be tested at that limit on the road. Candidly there is just too much grip. In a track...

    Just another daydream: electric 911

I like some of it but it’s a little too clean in terms of design. I would like a little more drama. Good to see they are investing heavily into the future here.

    Audi Made A PICK-UP Truck!

I find this overall form to be useful for the small number of times I need to carry supplies that would leave a Taycan trunk dirty. Not sure how much interest there would be outside the US market but I will be paying attention to this.

    Audi Made A PICK-UP Truck!

Seems a little like a 2nd gen cross turismo with a twist.

    Interesting…..a different take on utility.

I’m more optimistic about future Porsche products

They are clearly in transition. I am starting to see some common themes as well as some emerging ones. Certainly cant please all of the people all of the time but I am encouraged by the introduction of some traditional Porsche switchgear along with updated tech. The quality and simplicity...

I’m more optimistic about future Porsche products

I am less interested in the Cayenne and more interested in the direction of Porsche design holistically. The integration of physical buttons is important to me. Although, I am a bit surprised that they bothered to develop a new V8.

I’m more optimistic about future Porsche products

I was recently watching a preview video on YT of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne. It’s getting an updated exterior and a completely new interior. The reviewer was not at liberty to completely unveil the interior but if you look closely at about 2mins in, you can see (drum roll please….) actual hard...

US Car Insurance for EVs to be 28% higher than ICE cars. Taycan highest premium.

Interesting. When I dropped my Panamera and added my Taycan, my premium went down.

Interesting info on the potential Audi RS6 EV

There are web rumors that Porsche is working a tri-motor. I am sure it would be insane but I dont have a use case for it. The range increase is something I would spend $ for….even though the current range works for me.…psychological I guess. I still dont understand why the current Taycan...

Can The Porsche Taycan REALLY Beat The 911? -- Drag Race & Track Battle

Resale isn’t a factor for me. These are part of my fun. I consider them an expense (cash and carry). If I get anything back for resale, I consider it gravy.

Can The Porsche Taycan REALLY Beat The 911? -- Drag Race & Track Battle

I will be ordering a 911 GTS for the same reason. Keeping the Taycan though. So many will be making a play for an ICE sports car before they are too difficult to come by.

Can The Porsche Taycan REALLY Beat The 911? -- Drag Race & Track Battle

Another way to go could have been a RWD with the Turbo S rear motor, all of the performance options, small battery and a few light weight materials. They have enough bits and bobs from their parts bin to make a true drivers EV.

Can The Porsche Taycan REALLY Beat The 911? -- Drag Race & Track Battle

Given the weight issue, they probably shouldn’t have used the GTS name for their first gen EV. Should have reserved it for when they have figured out the weight issue. The J1 is a really good first attempt though.

Can The Porsche Taycan REALLY Beat The 911? -- Drag Race & Track Battle

In my view, Porsche should have done more to differentiate the GTS Taycan. Perhaps the smaller battery with more light weight materials would have done the trick to make for something that can handle the kind of track duty that the GTS badge is supposed to be capable of.
