I'd be very surprised if they shortchange themselves with slow charging, less range, poor performance, after all the EQC is a compliance car, the EQS on the new EV platform should be their signature EV car...
Anyway, IMHO, is the next big EV tech thing to watch...
True! And totally explains why my Taycan is more efficient than my MS90D with a desert like interior and narrow pumped up tires.
I just cannot believe why some people are so desperate that they need to believe that some pot smoking guy can invent a technical miracle. Until today, I have not...
Smart move! Anybody crazy enough to waste 100k on such poor quality and features is surely crazy enough to waste 150k. If you rip off customers, why not do it properly?
I am really impressed with the Taycan. The range might not sound great on paper but is in reality.
Audi A7: Range 495km with 75 liter tank, 98 RON (Premium Gasoline, SuperPlus 98, etc...), really full, mostly city driving
Taycan 4S+: Range 401km, mostly city driving, charge at home, never need...
I guess pipedream. Even VW tried with huge investment and many years to be successful with a luxury S-Class like car and finally admitted... I am interested in such a car, but after my MS90D disaster, I wait for the EQS...
Where? If I trash talk my MS90D that it is on personal experience.
This is the problem! You talk about Taycan but you don't have one.
I have a MS90D for over 4 years and nothing but problems on all levels, hardware, driving dynamics, electronics, software, terrible UI, completely unusable...
No, you don't need to take sides. But it does not change the fact that there was a lot of ugly trash talk when the EPA numbers came out from a lot of people who never even have seen the car.
Thank you. After I have added my car with my new VIN to the "My Porsche" website, I got an email:
And then after that another email from an employee at Porsche China
This I printed out and will bring it to the dealer when the car arrives.
Yes, thank you! I already created my Porsche ID (it says it is my email address) on my PC. Got an email "Proof of Ownership Request". I printed it and will go with it to the dealer next month to pick up my Taycan. From what I gathered on this form, having this ID linked to the car to store all...
I understand, but they did implement three different modes to start with. Now that the product is out, I am sure Porsche over time will listen to its' customers.
Could be, I am not a sports car driver, but I like it above the speed limit, to the frustration of my wife. :) My excuse: runs in the family!
Another reason why Porsche could have decided against one pedal driving, and I do see this as a downside: This morning, I had the situation...
Maybe Porsche did some customer research and found out, that one-pedal driving is not what the customer wants? Maybe Porsche with the VW group wants to establish a firm industry standard, which does not go down the road of one-pedal driving?
Of course possible, but maybe over-engineered? You then have blended regen and disk breaking on the break pedal and blended acceleration and regen on the gas pedal. Where do make the regen cut-off? 30kW, 50kW, 80kW, 120kW? At least for the first EV from Porsche, I guess it would have been too...
Because the Taycan has 265kW regen which is equivalent of hitting a regular break quite hard! If you put all this on one pedal and accidentally slip off - happens to me sometimes - you will produce accidents. Different tech level, requires different solutions.
