yeah it's interesting - really really fast charging is only part of the picture - you have to have enough delivery power to then provide ### kWh's in "mm" minutes… Macan is 100 kWh battery - 95 kWh usable 10% -80% is 70% charge - 70% of 95 is 66 kWh + 10% charing loss overhead is 73 kWh 73 kW...

please fix the headline - it's 1000 kW - not 1000 kWh's - these are very different units of measure.

so China can make EV's in Germany, actually VW factories, but VW can't pull it off - OMG these people are screwed.

this video is only part of the mountain that must be climbed…but it's a major reason Porsche (and others) don't have meaningful OTA updates… this is nothing I've not known/speculated/heard-of - but this is so direct from an actual automotive CEO - they are sooooo screwed…no wonder VW paying...

Porsche is in denial and not pushing for better EV's … they don't know how to compete so they are retreating to past glory - that has rarely been a successful business strategy. perhapes the sales are down because they increased the prices beyond it's value proposition - self sabotage to prove...

I hope so - but 2039 is 15 years - VW/Audi/Porsche could mismanage their way out of business…

there is so much familiar about this - I simply can't…OMG soooo much that is familiar we now consider it "essential" to get "painted keys" because we are fortunate enough to own multiple Porsche's - it avoids the awkward situation of sitting in the vehicle with a key fob and yet the vehicle...

everythings' fine - nothing to see here- move along move along - there will be no further pain - and our return to previous glory with ICE vehicle's is definitely the right call given the overwhelming trends going on world wide…and no our lack of software skills played no role in this debacle.

Range doesn't matter on a daily basis - only when road tripping - and then it only matters if the charging is not reliable - reliable charging = no range problems.

Macan Hybrid with 26 kWh battery is more problematic than Cayenne - creativity rules and maybe I'm wrong - but I'd say more like 16 kWh would in the volume range for Macan - but we'll see… Macan EV does a solid 280 miles - so I'm not sure how much more people need for a neighborhood run...

yes - that was the briefing in Aug. 2023 when I took the Leipzig factory tour due euro-delivery while I was there - they are quite proud of the fact that Leipzig can build: Macan ICE, Macan EV, Panamera if you get the opportunity for a factory tour I highly recommend it! I love factory tours...
