I think this is the time when we start to view the Korean brands in a new light.
I now think of them as the automotive equivalent of a Samsung phone.
Right up there with the class leaders (Apple / Tesla).
It was reported that BMW knew a lot of customers in existing markets wouldn't like it, but in new markets (eg China) they would.
I bet they might want to start rethinking that one.
I know on the UK forums that BMW lost lots of longtime loyal customers with the ridiculous huge grills.
I came from a line of BMW's - but wouldn't even consider any of the cars with the buck teeth grin.
?
Marvin was a visionary imo.
51 years on and this seem more relevant than ever.
Just in case anyone doesnt know the song, or not taken any notice of the lyrics....
Are you only interested in the 0-60 times?
Why not 'in gear/overtaking' times and how things go round corners?
That's what is usually more relevant in real world diving. Not drag strip times.
The PB+ does add more performance, but the 0-60 time are quoted as the same as the smaller battery...
I bet Tesla will be more concerned than Porsche.
It tramples all over one of their main (exaggerated) selling points.
Impressive figures though. How much does it weigh with that big battery?
I did have the platinum YM before the BLNR and had scratched my bezel too.
That said, I wore it all the time and managed to do this to it as well (pic 1)....!
Maybe a rethink for BLNR replacement?
However, I wear the Datejust nearly all the time nowadays. Very comfortable (pic 2) and prefer it...
I got mine in early 2014, but am probably going to move it on soon.
I always loved it, but the hype is a bit much nowadays. Its one of those watches all the thieves recognise now.
I would probably replace it with a Yachtmaster (Rhodium) and pocket some cash.
My main take away from it is that MB are using a lot of input from the Mercedes F1 team.
My personal view is that after a slow start, the (formidable) German car industry is now on a charge....... and Tesla may have a lot to think about in the not to distant future.
What a load of bo11ocks.....
Its a country where people prefer to buy their houses (not rent like much of Europe) and look after their cars - meticulously washing them on the drive every Sunday......before mowing the lawn!
Think it would work better in cities with high levels of rented...
+3
Every car forum I have ever been on (lots over the last 20 years!) is full of people complaining about the car (some rightly so obv).
People saying they will never buy that brand again and quite often saying that they will move on to Porsche next time.
Not quite sure where that leaves us. ?
Funny you should say that.....
Because by pure coincidence it's one of the absolute last things I would be interested in.
Great first post by the way. Can't believe you joined just to share that gem with us.
Ps It's 'no' not 'now' in English.
Also It isn't interesting.
Also - be honest, do...
Lots of Googling going on in this thread to back up arguments.
I still doubt we will ever see a post saying.....
'actually, thinking about it - you are right. I have completely changed my point of view. Thankyou for pointing out my errors'.
?
Just reading up on the Lucid Air following the EPA rating win. They are getting high praise from the mainstream press today - who are also giving Tesla a black eye.
A few things I learned about it (others may already be aware).....
Backed by Saudi investment. Stock is listed.
The chief...
I really hope we have people with a bit more common sense in the Taycan community.
There are going to be a lot of serious incidents when electric cars with huge amounts of power, for not much money are bought by the boy racer community.
I really don't want my insurance premiums to start going...
Personally I hope Porsche don't get into a 'pi55ing up the wall' contest about speed, like Tesla seem obsessed about.
The cars are already fast enough.
When people who can't control the power start crashing them, there is going to be a lot of bad publicity and rising insurance premiums.
I...
