Coming from Tesla to Taycan, but worried about charging on road trips.

That indeed would be a game changer! Good to see that all this mess of apps, cards, dongles from different providers would change. Whatever was wrong with the Payment Cards and Credit Cards already in use globally. I am sure there will be other ways to get discounts but move in right direction...

Coming from Tesla to Taycan, but worried about charging on road trips.

I do not know if you have used ABRP app or website before. Plan your route in there with a setting for a Taycan model. You can easily set filters for different networks to avoid and also minimum number of stalls. I never ever bother or look at stations less than 4 chargers. I forgot to mention...

Coming from Tesla to Taycan, but worried about charging on road trips.

I guess there are a number of UK owners on here that have a much better view than I have got from visiting a few times. I have also not been any further north than Boston in the U.K. I got the advice to look at ZAPMAP and find suitable stations that way, since that seemed the best option in the...

Panamera E-hybrid vs Taycan driving dynamics

Have a look at this drag race from carwow Panamera TS hybrid does quite well. The 911 TS is amazing though. It is just a straight drag race but handling in the Panamera is quite good overall.

Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

There has been a few tests, both summer and winter test done in Norway. All cars are fully charged and then driven until they stop. And need to be taken on a flat bed. Quite a deviation from the WLTP figures, but one of the few tests done at the same time and the same route. The Taycan 4CT was...

Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

Correct for the car under the warranty period. But wait until you do the first service at 30k km or 2years. And when you need extra tpms sensors or new tyres. Hopefully you will also avoid all potholes that can knock your alignment out of shape?

Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

The US range is EPA and the EU range is WLPT. They are quite different and both probably in no way reflecting the user experience at all. In the US it seems the car is overperforming against EPA range and in EU underperforming against WLTP. Understanding these different test procedures is...

Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

I expected a number of teething problems with a new model. And I had followed Tesla journey with issues as well. But I did not foresee that the car would spend so much time at the workshop the first year. Summarising the times it was there for diagnostics, waiting for parts brought the total to...

Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

Yes it is surprising that you noticed such a drop after the uPdate. And it has not begun to increase after driving for some distance either? I can not see the figures you have quoted above for range in the french website. I found a range for consumption though and the was between 21.4 to 24.8...

Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

I feel your pain in all of this. So many problems with the car and the attitude of Porsche. A new car model and such a huge leap from the normal Porsches are bound to have teething problems. At that stage it certainly requires very good customer relations to get through such a period. And on...

Will you test drive the Mercedes EQS?

I have 20” wheels for the winter tyres and there is a difference in efficiency. The 21“ feel hard and noisy at lower temperatures. I would love to try out 20” tyres on my aftermarket wheels or even better on the aerodynamic Porsche wheels. But the looks….. ? of the Porsche aerodynamic wheels...

Will you test drive the Mercedes EQS?

When I test drove the EQS it was both on French motorway surface but also on some more local roads with a rougher road surface and imperfections. On the motorway the difference in noise level was noted but marginal. But on the rougher surface the EQS was noticeable quieter. Music playing could...

Should I trade in my Taycan 4S for an Aston Martin Vantage? (pics)

DO IT! There is something special everytime you fire up an Aston! It is not the best car to drive, but there is a special special feeling everytime you take an Aston for a drive.

    Taycan v Hyundai Ioniq 6

Apart from that spoiler, I would have a very close look and test drive! If it handles anything like the normal N tuned verions and have the known infotainment, it is worth a look. Nothing to do with affordability, just want a car that gives a good experience.

Will you test drive the Mercedes EQS?

Hi, have you any summary of your experience with your EQS. I have had a test drive and was impressed with a lot. But it is a completely different car to the Taycan and it ceratinly is a big car. It felt like a huge car, especially trying to park in normal French car parks. I am especially...
