  1. Porsche Ranks First in 2024 US Initial Auto Quality - J.D. Power Study

My experience with my 2020 4S has been similar. Very happy with the car!
  2. Rivian shocks with R2, R3, R3X reveals! $45K starting price, 0-60 under 3 secs, 300+ miles range

Hope these help them to survive the next two years. They don't have a source of unending funds like Lucid and can't keep losing money at the rate they have been doing.
  3. Moloughney: real world highway range of EVs - Article

I suspect that it is a combination of terrain and temperature. Here in the part of New York where I live and mostly drive, it is largely flat with very gradual inclines. In the non-winter months, I get about 275 miles at 85%. Reliably. When I drive longer and head west, I have to drive on more...
  4. Taycan Turbo vs Audi E-Tron S Prestige

As the owner of a Taycan 4S and an eTron S Prestige, I suppose I am in a position to opine. The eTron S is a fantastic SUV, and it has the storage that my wife was looking for in her vehicle. She is an avid golfer and wants to be able to load her clubs and her cart easily, with the occasional...
  5. Do you have other EV's?

Finally, we have two! Audi eTron S Sportback (n/k/a SQ8 eTron Sportback).
  6. Do you have other EV's?

While I have had many EVs/plugins, I only have had one at a time, since I have never been able to convince my wife/kids to go EV themselves until recently. Soon, we will have two!
  7. "There's only one customer for electric vehicles" - Article link

I'm not so sure of that, at least in the short- to medium-term. My Porsche dealer has been pretty busy with Taycans for the last few years. :CWL: To be clear, I love my Taycan! I think they have proven that it can be done, but since they have not made great money ex-carbon credits per vehicle...
  8. GENESIS GV60 -- I have one on order, should I keep it or cancel?

I couldn’t get my wife to like it enough to buy it. She really liked the GV60, but she found the turning radius to be too large; she is definitely one of those people who would appreciate a RAS option for the GV60. She is holding out for the Audi E-tron S Sportback. Too bad for me, since the...
  9. Taycan v Hyundai Ioniq 6

Agree on all fronts, but historically performance cars and family haulers were not close in quickness and acceleration, so it was a differentiating characteristic. You never had to say that a Porsche was "just a little" quicker than the Subaru. Right now, Taycan has design and handling nicely...
  10. Taycan v Hyundai Ioniq 6

It's just that there still are not a ton of interesting EVs. So all "interesting" EVs get lumped together by people who want an EV first, not a car first. Nobody would cross shop a Subaru Outback against a Panamera because there are a LOT of ICE vehicles to choose and therefore many more...
  11. Taycan v Hyundai Ioniq 6

I It is certainly possible that it was a consideration, but design elements of the type that you have described have been hard to enforce. I suspect stamping/machining costs and interior space impacts were as much of a consideration (if not greater) in the changes as potential litigation.
  12. GENESIS GV60 -- I have one on order, should I keep it or cancel?

I would definitely keep it. It is a promising car with some very interesting features that I would love to try for a while (FaceID/TouchID being one of them).
  13. Other Hobbies

    Golf!
  14. Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I think that it absolutely is not. However, it is in the ballpark from a price perspective, so it does enter the consideration set for a certain subset of buyers. I know a few people who were considering a 7 series for example, who ultimately purchased a Model S. They absolutely do not consider...
  15. 2021 Karma GS-6S Sport

The thing about the Karma for me, even from a design perspective, is that the car was less impressive in person than on paper/pictures. The reason I bought the Taycan was that it was the opposite for me. Call them intangibles, details -whatever. But that did the Karma in for me back then. Maybe...
