Porsche Taycan vs Porsche Cayman S.......................... and used Tesla Model 3 or whatever cheap used but still semi decent EV (or Kia)

For the price of the 4S with some options, you can get a brand spanking new Cayman S and a used Tesla Model 3. Model 3 for daily because I live in California and I don't want to pay 6 dollars a gallon for my everyday. Cayman S because you get to enjoy what Porsche has to offer as a great track and sports car. Not to mention you will have 2 cars to play with all the time.

Just food for thought.

Edit: Kia EV6 base + 718 GT4 can be done around 150k not including tax and destination fees etc

Great car, but it does sound like it's shitting its pants when you drive down the road. I'll pass on the turbo 4.

Just saying for the price of 150k you can have a gt4 and a crossover ev. You get a gas guzzler for all your fun stuff and your ev that can do everything utility. Might not be a bad idea if someone is considering a well optioned Taycan

Are you seeking some validation on what you wanna do? If so and you want to get a cayman and Tesla, go for it. There are worse options, but you could buy a lot of things for a well optioned Taycan. If you're on the fence of going 100% EV then it's probably a drill that most have done (model 3 + any number of performance options for weekends). I've owned a Cayman before and it was alright but 911 was always calling so to me unless you get something like a GT4 RS then why not a 911. To be honest after having several, I didn't want the hassle of several cars that sit half the year other than a random weekend. I have a boat for that... I got teenage drivers now too so there is also that and I have several other cars for them. It just wasn't worth the hassle for multiple cars for me anymore. Got other hobbies and wanted one awesome car over a couple of cars that are just "okay" but not mind blowing. A Cayman is good but it never really stirred my emotions like other cars I've owned. my 2 cents.

Not really just food for thought. I already own a Taycan. Because in three years I will have to change my car even if I don't want to. My choice will be either a performance SUV or a budget suv + fun car. The new electric SUV from Lotus looks pretty sick actually.

I've had multiple perf SUVs include an AMG GLE63S which was pretty ridiculous. The power is alright but honestly, it's a big, lumbering SUV that handles in ways that physics shouldn't allow; however, you still sit higher up and I ended up feeling like it was one foot in and one foot out. Not sporty enough to scratch the sports car itch and not SUV enough to be practical. Now if you go with something like a Urus, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT maybe you'll feel different. The Lotus SUV does look sweet and given Lotus handling, I'd say that would be worth a look. It'd definitely be less common than the others..... ....could wait for the Macan EV coming too if you can hold out. I had a Macan as well and with the right setup, that car was legitimately fun and in the Cayman territory. Didn't blow my mind but was more practical and felt a lot like the Cayman which is saying something.

Well a Cayman S is not a GT4, and you can’t get a GT4 + an EV for the price of a Taycan. My 2020 GT4 just sold two months ago for $139k. I had to get rid of one of my cars for space reasons. The Taycan 4S stayed and the GT4 went.
