This is interesting analysis but I don’t expect Porsche to be on the leading edge of efficiency In the future. It’s simply not the goal. They make their money on their ability to design and engineer a personal connection to the automotive experience. Expect that if they leverage tech for a lower weight battery, the net effect would be biased towards overall performance. They will likely make efforts to “keep pace” by staying mid pack with industry norms for efficiency but never at the expense of what makes Porsche desirable as a brand.

What revolutionary materials or technology are used to create such weight savings?
The air-air (or plasma-air) battery, to be specific, otherwise known as "lightning in a bottle".
But it turns out that's a mere 8kWh/bottle, so 99 bottles of lightning would be a fairly useful ~800kWh wall.

I'll see myself out.
