That's an amazing collection of scale models! I'm guessing you have a few Lancia Integrales in there? (I had one as a garage queen for 22 years, I now only have a few scale models for the memories)

That would no longer surprise me, having seen all the other candidates cross-shopped on this forum. There have been some Merc's and BMW's that are no more comparable than the Ford. The Taycan even in CT form is not an SUV. Prestige German marques are more just "expensive" than "High-end"...

For comparison, his Taycan 4S review from Nov'20...
Range the big issue with both cars, but the Taycan was "engaging" while the BMW "lacks the dynamics and driver involvement of proper M cars" (my...
Indeed. I don't recall wetted area (or whatever is common usage for automotive aerodynamics) getting mentioned when journalists discuss drag or Cd.
I remember back in the '70s that the Ford Transit was lauded for having a lower Cd than many contemporary cars.
Looks interesting, but a surely a different segment to the Taycan (maybe the lack of performance EVs with hatches makes them a temporary segment until the new Macan etc come along).
(Also- based on its looks, I could imagine it with a Renault badge)
I rarely find myself in conditions where flat-out acceleration from a standing start is both safe (because I can see no risk of someone coming late across the lights) and doesn't make me feel like I'm performing for an audience. Also, I've found I'm physically less tolerant of 4 or less second...
Pity that's not a build option for the Taycan- I've had to order with rear badging deleted, then will pay my dealer to fit just a "Taycan" badge (I want the contrast of the black badge with the lighter body colour, but I'd rather not advertise the variant. I don't want to mess around with the...
I agree, and the key competitor for Porsche EVs is Porsche ICEs. Until the 911 goes EV (with or without a new name) I don't think other Porsche EVs- even as upcoming 2-seaters- will be allowed to eclipse its straight-line performance.
I'd invested so much effort searching for the catch-up service that I resisted my usual reaction to being asked to sign up. IIRC I only had to create an account- no payment details not even the "input your card details and we hope you forget that we'll start charging after your free trial" kind.
Just for context for those unaware of his credentials- that's Jason Plato, twice British Touring Cars Champion, so should get a consistent high performance in these tests.
EDIT- catch-up link for UK (item starts around 16:28)...
From the article: " Well, time has vindicated my stance and people in the UK are starting to wake up to the very real possibility they would be completely dependent on the government to be driven anywhere."

There's a history of some of the more adventurous standard colours being discontinued a few years after launch...I fear Frozen Blue might be dropped before I get my MY23. If so, I'd give serious consideration to Mexico or Riviera Blue.
Brilliant- bookmarked- thanks.
Now, if they could just add a function to adjust the ambient white temperature across a range from coldest white through natural daylights to warmest white.
