I did it. Miss the Targa form factor, especially the easier ingress/egress.
Otherwise no regrets. I do not miss the oil changes and other expensive service intervals.
I enjoy the instant EV power.
I think it's really great the CEO did this. He got to experience the real EA experience.
I hope they focus on reliability/uptime, and also canopies so we don't get rained on.
And trash cans.
Yeah, and it cost me around $200 and around an hour of time drinking Porsche's coffee.
You're dreaming if you think a 911 only needs service every 2 years.
In addition to the oil changes, there are bigger service intervals every 10K or so. These get more costly over time and use - the 60K...
They are for this one. I love the cars and hate handing them over for service.
Having been through 3 Boxsters and 3 911s I am tired of engines that run by constantly trying to destroy themselves.
I realize I’m in the minority on this, but to me electric cars are just better, simpler designs...
I'm not a buyer for that. The instant torque and low service intervals have me sold on BEVs as just simpler and better.
It's like Motorola RAZR vs iPhone.
It will have a better front end when it ships, guaranteed.
I just look forward to easier ingress/egress without the completely unnecessary back set of doors and back seat!
I'm a sportscar buyer. I like 911s and Boxsters. I am in the Taycan because I'm done with ICE tech; the torque and power (and cost to own) on EVs has made me a believer.
I drive the Taycan because it's the EV Porsche makes, not because it's the EV I want.
