Tesla Cybertruck beats 911 while towing a 911

Everyone on here getting upset just adds to what Elon wants :) All the whooping from fanbois at the end of the video was amusing, just like the upset in here. So what if Tesla owners will always crow about acceleration and price etc. Teslas have a place in the market, and have done much for EV...

    Taycan or Panamera?

I just had the dubious privilege of using a Panamera 4 eHybrid for a week. I have no real idea why anyone would choose one over a Taycan tbh. The drivetrain was awful. ePower mode didn't have much power or e for very long. Sport mode was OK but the V6 also felt a bit lacking. Hybrid mode...

    2024 Panamera interior revealed

The automation for the steering wheel is fine IMO. For the a/c, like you I set and forget. Voice control works OK for any need to tweak.

    2024 Panamera interior revealed

I can on mine, albeit a little awkwardly... Unlatch and then put my arm round the other side around the back. Could be better designed (side hinged maybe). But Porsche seem to like awkward cubbies (my 997 was the same). What I find more irritating are the mirror controls being too far back in...

[North America] - FAQ: the ultimate guide to the Porsche EVSE PMC+/PMCC/PWCC

Is the US like the UK in that the connectors are built to a standard? The brand shouldn't matter, but compliance with the standard does. And everything in the chain needs to be protected to the right level otherwise major issues can happen. Breakers, cable, sockets etc etc all designed to...

    my Taycan vs my 911

It seems like you and I have an overlapping car history. Bought my 355 in '99. Sold in it '07 when a V8 Vantage took my eye (another great car, but with different strengths/weaknesses). I still have a TVR Griffith 500 :) (And my beloved Caterham 7 of 27yrs). I'm a chunk your junior (20yrs)...

    my Taycan vs my 911

Totally agree (and I'm afraid the video clip of the "motor noise" just reminded me of the worst elements of driving a race car with bad transmission whine). I quite like the faux noise, my kids more so. But I'm finding I don't have it on most of the time now. I had the same flat plane crank...

    my Taycan vs my 911

Thanks. Think Frank was right... It's option dependent. I'll see if I can turn off remote park as the chances of me using it are nil - it's less able to park than the wife. Maybe that will give me the cameras icon. (Why can't you just choose these shortcuts... Porsche?!).

    my Taycan vs my 911

Of the a/c panel? Or the one higher up? I have the little steering wheel icon in the a/c panel, but think that's remote park assist which is a bit different (and pretty useless ?)

    my Taycan vs my 911

I'll go out and have a look round when I get chance... But where is the Park Assist button in the centre console in the Taycan....? It's one of the things I wish there were more customisable buttons for... But this might cover it :) Thanks.

Should I trade in my Taycan 4S for an Aston Martin Vantage? (pics)

Other than, perhaps, in terms of price, the two cars are entirely incomparable. I had a previous iteration V8 Vantage. Kept it 8.5yrs. It was a brilliant car. Loved it. (Am not so much a fan of the latest one, outside or in). As my family grew, I was long on 2-seat cars. So I traded it for...

    Taycan CT vs Hummer EV

tbh I have yet to sit in an American car and not be able to find something of this description included :) It's never a great surprise to see them so cheap compared to other makes.

    Taycan v Hyundai Ioniq 6

Looks even better on the move. Shame it will never be made.

    Taycan v Hyundai Ioniq 6

I agree. Slight tidy up on the side profile, and a decent BEV powertrain and I'd definitely buy that. Reminds me of a cross between earlier Sport Audis and 70s/80s era Astons.

DeLorean Alpha5 electric car unveiled to rival Porsche Taycan

My bet is when that comes out movies won't exist any more and we'll be having stories beamed righ into our consciousness :) I quite like it, but will be astounded if the specs turn out right, it looks like that and is hitting showrooms in 2yrs.
