The Model 3 and the Taycan are different class vehicles. If they both weren't electric, we wouldn't even be comparing them.
It turns out smaller and lighter matter on the track... who knew? :P
I think the term "center screen" here is being confused. You can only display CarPlay on the main PCM screen, which is the top screen in the center of the car. You cannot display CarPlay in the center of the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.
Which makes sense, given the shape of...
I have done 2 1000mi road trips in my Taycan, and Innodrive worked great for both. I tested a bunch of situations, including going through the mountains on CA-152. For highway use, Innodrive has worked fine. It will do stop and go traffic. There are a few things that need to be configured...
If your biggest concern is if the car can drive itself, then Porsche isn't your brand. Choose the Taycan because you want Porsche driving dynamics or you want the personalization Porsche offers.
We have many Taycan owners here who were likely looking for something put together better than a...
If I was interested in buying a Tesla for FSD, I would never pony up the extra $10k. I'd just wait for an actual release and then trade up to the new car with the actual working bits. Crazy to do anything else.
They're not years ahead of everyone else, they are at best 3rd place behind Waymo and Cruise. They're painting themselves in a corner by avoiding LIDAR.
A better technical article is at Ars
Because there are plenty of weird configs out there where people intentionally leave out things that others are shocked aren't standard. There's more than a few stripper C2's floating around. Things definitely aren't so Porsche can advertise a low starting price.
For the mass market...
You mean like with the Macan/Q5? Or the S3/GTi? Or maybe you mean all the way back to the original RS2?
Audi's been doing avants a lot longer than Porsche has. And that image is listed as speculative image, meaning someone photoshopped it to create an article.
Chastising Audi for using a corporate platform to release a car that is going to be similar. My Macan GTS was based on the *previous* gen Audi Q5 platform.
The e-tron GT will be Audi's take on the J1 platform. GIven it's going to have the same motors, the output power will be determined by...
I expect the difference to be around $30k in the US, given putting decent options on the Porsche, vs the Audi. What you get standard in an Audi is generally a lot better in the US. Look at Macan GTS vs. SQ5 for example.
There will just be more options available for Porsche.
Meh, I liked both of my R8's more than any similar 911. Then the Mk2 didn't have a manual. :/
I also miss my B7 RS4, but there wont ever be another car like that again.
And most the new folks will be gone when some new shiny EV comes along, because they were more interested in EVs than Porsches, as this forum is a strong demonstration of.
The Macan EV will be more of a mass-market brand ambassador than a luxury sedan will be. Look at the sales number...
Not gonna lie, if the e-tron GT RS was available today, I'd probably take that over the Turbo. It'll be cheaper, and I can jump the queue more likely at my Audi dealer. (Bought 2 R8's, RS4, a few S4's. etc).
I like the hatchback more than the small trunk opening on the Taycan also. Plus...
LOL at having someplace to park 3 cars (I'd love to have that!). I'd still have an R8 if I had somewhere to park it. :(
I dearly miss the gated shifter of the R8.. the clack-clack of shifting was so satisfying.
I do agree that folks can get by with a Bolt and some other car pretty easily...
