The battery in most Teslas is similarly sized to a normal ICE 12v battery. I would think that most PHEV's and BEV's are likely similarly sized, so you would THINK it wouldn't be an issue.
But I got a C in circuits so I'm certainly not going to criticize, lol.
Yes, I completely understand. My point was you have a 12v battery with little loading, with all kinds of sophisticated power management software aboard, and a huge power reserve connected at all times to basically trickle charge it whenever needed. It shouldn't be difficult to keep the thing...

I Don't Know Who the 2021 Karma GS-6 Is For
Yes, you can still buy an updated version of the old Fisker Karma. I just don't know why anyone would.
Yeah, 12v batteries dying on an EV which hardly uses them in under 24 months? While an ICE car, which uses it way more lasts 4-6 or more years? Something's definitely smelly there.
Exactly. Same thing with Teslas. There are some that are shop nightmares. Can't ever spend time at home. And then there are many with zero problems. And many times, programming related. Although in Tesla's case, there's more hardware failure than normal. All from the same manufacturer...
Remember that the Mustang Mach E has had the same exact problem as the Taycan: draining the 12v battery when connected to charging. Almost identical fault pattern. So either getting the programming for that functionality correct is hard, or both Ford and Porsche have both cut corners. I...
Your example couldn't be less correct.
A modern car is a collection of dozens of different electronic modules, sourced from multiple vendors. Each of them having their own firmware which need to talk to each other. So while writing software for a single app isn't all that difficult...
Funny you should post this, as I just saw my second one in person this morning. l have been very interested in the Polestar as I am a former Volvo owner, and general Volvo fan and know people that work for Volvo US. So the idea of the Polestar 2 as a replacement for my Model 3 has always been...
Meh, it's only soft because I didn't present data. I didn't really think I needed to.
Look, I'm not saying that Porsche never would have decided to debut the Mission E. Or Rivian. Or Lucid. Or Canoo. Or Mercedes would launch a phalanx of EV's at the Frankfurt Auto show. But if you...
Tesla has, in the US, single-handedly created the luxury EV market. Period. They proved it could be viable, they proved that people would pay for an expensive EV and enjoy it. And they did it with a pretty spotty product line. I won't extrapolate this to other parts of the world, but...
I literally said the test was bad. I have no faith in the institutions. Porsche knew this, and they commissioned the AMCI report which they released the same day the EPA ratings came out.
i merely said the test is standardized. you Seem to enjoy twisting other people’s words to make your own...
What? They most certainly do follow a standardized and verified test protocol.
I agree that they are meaningless. But that's because the protocol they follow is adapted from the protocol, almost directly, that they use to test ICE vehicles. It's not representative of how EV's work. Telsa...
