Sheesh a freeze point 5 months in advance seems excessive. I ordered on 21 November and was not given precise dates. Rather I was told production slot of April and delivery about 6 weeks later to Houston USA. Wouldn't my freeze point be here any day if the 5 month spread is normal?
Seems...
💡 Thanks for the idea! I also need to see if a 3D printed solution could be implemented. I would have to wait for showroom vehicles to see if either works.
After watching video reviews it is quite apparent the front console design is seriously flawed. If one is using the cupholders there is no place to rest your elbow because the console lid must be slid backwards to access the cups. This vehicle was to be my family car and my wife constantly...
For USA the vehicle lists "prepearation for tow hitch" but a hitch is not an option. This may mean late availability which is a deal breaker for me. Euro cars have their hitch type available from launch.
But then why are they not offering many of their normal optional upgrades that do not require certification? Things like deviated colored stiching with leather and the such.
I prefer not to wait 4-5 months then have to decide on yet another vehicle and wait again. Which is ridiculous since...
I bet Porsche has chosen to simplify the options, for now, to allow for easier production ramp up. Several months in the heavy customizations will roll in. So it looks like I need to wait. As I age I find patience is not my specialty!
Yes hitch in USA = tow hook in Europe. However, the Euro system is electric and uses a permanently mounted ball whereas the system in USA use a square receiver hole where a ball is mounted to it.
I logged into the UK Porsche site and see the hitch is available so this leads me to believe...
I see the vehicle has a tow rating. My build spec says vehicle comes prepared for a hitch. Yet no hitch is available to order. WTH? This is a full stop deal breaker for me. If the hitch is not available from DAY ONE I must cancel my order.
