BMW XM. What are they thinking?

All of a sudden Bangle designed cars seem quite pretty ?

BMW XM. What are they thinking?

It’s the automotive equivalent of ‘brutalist’ architecture. That only took 40 years to gain some (through gritted teeth) sense of admiration! Even then…??

MB EQE SUV vs. Waiting for Macan EV

Most modern Merc’s leave me pretty cold, and the EQ stuff similar. Actually prefer the BMWs even with grille designs which are pretty….challenging. I’ll wait to see what the new Macan is like, as a potential replacement for the X. No rush though. The suspension hasn’t given way (yet) and the...

MB EQE SUV vs. Waiting for Macan EV

I think we’re digital twins. Long time X owner here too. It is practical though and does tow quite well ?

Driving review - Taycan GTS versus RS e-tron GT

Amen to that. I appreciate the actual, real sound a machine makes, be it a reciprocating, rotary, turbine or jet engine or what about a couple of juicy electric motors whining mercilessly to 16K ?, rather than some fake, plastic, aural enhanced BS.

Honda, Qualcomm and Sony and the Afeelaa EV

Sony Global video from CES 2023: Their prototype looks 'inspired' by the 911 and Taycan flanks and shape. Wheels too, seem very Porsche-esqe! Imitation is the sincerest from of flattery...?

Does driving a Taycan make one an official EV and/or Porsche brand ambassador?

They’re out there alright! One day in 2017 I pulled into the Waitrose (maybe it something to do with shops that begin with the letter “W”) car park in Ipswich in Suffolk, UK in our new model X. These were somewhat rarer than they are now. No one barely give a toss now. Anyhow back then, we’d...

Porsche 718 / 983 Boxster EV Electric - spotted testing

Be lucky if this hits the streets in 2026 I reckon.

    Rivian…

I think we’d be very lucky to see a RHD in 2024. They were supposed to begin LHD sales in Europe this year, then it got pushed back to 2023. Not sure that’s a certainty either.

    Rivian…

While on the one hand that’s impressive, on the other, ex-F1 engineers fettling the chassis and running gear on a truck sounds a bit OTT.

    Rivian…

Thank you. It’s a while away from being released here, but I’d like a decent truck to tow with. It sounds pretty decent. Hopefully they can sort the driveline lash

How can I change my country flag?

I’m in the UK - can I wave a flag pretty please? ? (I take it the database tries to predict country by IP address lookup/matching?)

Q: "Which Legacy Automaker Is Selling Most EVs As Portion Of Overall Sales In USA?" - A: Porsche & Taycan!

Also how appealing the “transitioned” cars are to the buyers of said brands. Possibly more important than how many pure electric models they have. Folk have got to want to buy them.

Input Needed - Taycan trade in for RS6

I owned a Sepang Blue C6 RS6 saloon from 2009 to 2018. Epic engine, but the car was huge and quite heavy. If I could turn back time I’d have my naturally aspirated V8 RS4 from 2006 again. Despite the FSi engine coking it’s heads. Still a saloon, but a great machine. For the OP, not sure I’d...

Tesla is now onto their 3rd generation of infotainment hardware, moving from nvidia initially to intel and now ryzen based MCUs. Self driving hardware has also evolved in the same timespan.
