Actually EV 911 is exactly what I want. A Targa specifically.
I am DONE with ICE. Full stop. But the 991 Targa is my favorite car of all time.
So I'm driving a Taycan for now until they make the car I want, or something close to it (a Boxster EV perhaps.)
I wanted to say something snarky but the 911 is a phenomenal vehicle that I really can't say a thing bad about.
Sorry EV life didn't work for you but you're going from awesome to awesome here.
I've had a mix.
Negative:
- Heckled at Amarillo EA station "You'd be done already if dat thing waz gas!" etc.
- A woman rolled down her window to visibly laugh/mock me waiting my turn at a busy EA station in Waco. Not gonna lie, I was pretty unhappy with EA that day and she had a point. :)...
I've been heckled as well at a charger. I'm curious what their goal is, do they really think after talking with you that you'll immediately dump your car for ICE?
The EV haters tend to be small-minded, small-town people fed a narrative by their diet of slanted media. They are afraid watching...
Forget EV - google any CAR name followed by problems.
I am perfectly gruntled with my Taycan and considering placing an order for a new one in a color I like better. I might go upmarket from base to 4S as well, but so many reviewers rave the RWD drives best ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
So...it's like this.
My first Porsche in 1998, the saleswoman told me "you'll never be able to drive anything else."
I shook it off as sales hyperbole but damned if she wasn't right.
Every time I try to "kick" I end up coming back to Porsche.
The Taycan makes my 7th.
At this point I just...
When I traded in my Targa 4S it was lowballed a bit, and the reason was the stop-sale due to the Sport+ mode emissions issue. I believe this to be a legit thing.
I've had 3 cars in the affected window:
2014 Targa 4S
2010 997
2008 Boxster S
I haven't decided yet if I am going to pursue it.
I...
It continues to test according to spec, and the AC sensor issue doesn't apply to my car.
At this point I'm going to grab an IR thermometer and keep it in the car, and try to find the conditions that replicate the issue.
