    [opinion] - hmmm…VW/Audi/Porsche may be in trouble…

from a HP and performance perspective the Macan EV is better value than the ICE macan in my opinion - there are cheaper entry point ICE macan but i doubt anyone on the Taycan forum would say they are “good cars” - crappy engines, terrible throttle lag, expensive to maintain, mediocre gas milage...

and the next step down in trim levels for the ICE Macan is really quite a bit less car/performance

Macan 4S EV - 0-60 in 3.9 seconds - $84,900 - before options Macan GTS ICE - 0-60 in 4.3 seconds - fastest trim you can purchase today - $91,000 - before options there are cheaper trims - but they are lesser cars - so you might as well compare Porsche to any other brand/car you choose - yes...

    [opinion] - hmmm…VW/Audi/Porsche may be in trouble…

Porsche pursuing efuels is like Blockbuster video pursuing "faster rewind of the tapes" as a business plan to stave off streaming… even if they are carbon neutral (a claim I don't fully believe) - they still burn like normal fuels which have all sorts of nasty pollution/non-greenhouse gas...

[North America] - FAQ: the ultimate guide to the Porsche EVSE PMC+/PMCC/PWCC

J-1772 internals need re-working by consumer/customer for the Porsche EVSE not to suck - not a quality product. the trend continues unabated that the porsche EVSE and related parts are simply awful products and have no business charging your EV - purchase an alternative quality EVSE and ignore...

[US] - Over the Top - the well equipped EV home garage…for those that wish to "over do it"…

if you're main panel is "capacity" limited I don't for-see a 60 amp breaker (48 amp max charge rate) to be a real concern.

this is my point - most but not all Supercharger sites are open to non-teslas even europe

    [opinion] - hmmm…VW/Audi/Porsche may be in trouble…

this is incorrect - there are and were (many in early days) supercharger sites that are not open to non-teslas in europe (UK in particular) european law regulates technical compatibility but does not require you allow everyone to use your network - no different than not allowing gas cars to...

why are the german's in trouble? this is why… just one example of german sausage making (you know the kind you don't want to see up close) the video/talk is simply fascinating example of why existing companies can't respond to disruption.

just like a Porsche. just like Porsche - low volume manufacturer yep - sounds german to me… 3.3 mm damage to the battery tray of your Taycan - sounds familiar to me… German auto vs. China lower cost and higher volume EV's

BYD showcasing 1000kw charging in their new sedan Han L EV

yeah it's interesting - really really fast charging is only part of the picture - you have to have enough delivery power to then provide ### kWh's in "mm" minutes… Macan is 100 kWh battery - 95 kWh usable 10% -80% is 70% charge - 70% of 95 is 66 kWh + 10% charing loss overhead is 73 kWh 73 kW...
