@Jonathan S. - If I recall correctly you had one hell of a spreadsheet to evaluate your purchase of the Taycan CT. Did you happen to put one together for the SUV purchase that deals with the factors above?
I'm particularly interested in AWD question, and the range for long-distance travel...
My wife's Lexus RX Hybrid is coming off warranty and we're in the market for a new vehicle for her. We love to hike in the Cascades where HVDC charging infrastructure is either weak or non-existent (even for a Tesla). I have also been waiting to hear from Porsche that they will move to NACS...
@Edward - As I said above, Marketing is not my thing. However, I’m beginning to appreciate that you really care about this, have some interesting ideas, and that’s OK with me.
But can we all agree that what Porsche clients, current and future, really need most, is access to a reliable...
To me the quickest way Porsche can expand it's addressable market is to put out EVs at a range of prices (the way they did with Cayenne and Macan) AND provide access to a High Speed charging network that has the performance and reliability expected of a high performance luxury car company.
The...
I don't disagree that Porsche needs to broaden its customer base, and appeal to a younger demographic. However, the marketing team are clearly idiots. If they understood more than the crypto hype (remember the "Fortune Favors the Brave" ad with Matt Damon anyone?), they wouldn't want the...
I agree, and encourage everyone who has doubts to read the link to Web3 is Going Great that @daveo4EV posted. Every week/day someone is ripping off someone else. I've bookmarked this and checked it out for the past year and I'm astounded that anyone is still supporting crypto.
I read an essay...
The Taycan is known to have a longer breaking distance than some other Porsches.
I was at PECLA and when we entered turns in a Taycan, they told us we had to start breaking earlier than the Porsche 718 GT 4RS we were driving. However, the Taycan braking distance was better than a 718 GT4.
Great advice. We drove a Honda Odyssey for 8 years as our kids were growing up.
My Dad always said - "You always want to be driving when your kids and their friends need to go somewhere. They say things to each other as if you don't exist - and you get to hear it all" ?
Today I received this reply. While there is no news regarding NACS or SuC, I was pleased there was no use of ChatGPT to craft the response ?
Good Morning Mr. Stevens,
Thank you for providing this information and your recommendations.
The appropriate teams are actively working, but I cannot...
@daveo4EV - I really appreciate your effort to share this trip along with pictures and perspective.
I was inspired! I decided to send another email to my Executive Case Specialist contact at PCNA (the one that @Jonathan S. suggested might be a ChatGPT Bot ?). No clue what sort of response...
@daveo4EV - I second that. If you want to do a meetup in the Seattle area on this journey just message someone (@WasserGKuehlt, @whitex, @snstevens) and we'll make that happen.
I hate to miss the opportunity to see you and put a face to a name.
After catching up on the 4 pages of comments I think the discussion has gotten a bit off track, and that OP should focus on just 2 things --
Schedule a Service Visit -- If you are truly getting only 130 miles range in the winter then something is wrong with the battery and/or charging system...
I like the timeline, but to be honest I wouldn't buy an aftermarket adapter for a high voltage / high current connection.
An aftermarket adapter might pose the same problems as those we saw with NEMA 14-50 plugs, only at higher voltages and current.
