My 911s, at least the ones with stability control, have never been unstable or “tail happy”. You can’t really ever turn it fully off on water cooled 911 street cars, unfortunately
But the difference in the way you can drive them is, in my experience, very different.
In my 911s, the biggest...
I agree with you about 95%. The way that I do not think they are effectively tied is that my Taycan CT feels much bigger than my 997 911. This is not surprising, of course, but it is harder to feel as comfortable in a vehicle that is -- and feels -- much bigger. Now, I know that the 911 has...
I think the Taycan handles extremely well. The suspension quality and tuning is fantastic. For me, the difference between the Taycan and the 911 is not just the big difference in overall weight, but rather the distribution of that weight. The rear weight bias of a 911 is a truly unique...
Not really. It really depends upon weather and how many people (most important factor) and how much gear I have.
You know, with the right tires, the 911 is fantastic in snow and mud: I used to drive mine throughout winters and even in 33” of snow. Never stuck, no accidents, just inadvertently...
Yes, that’s the one. #48 of 50 made. 1 of 6 with factory aero kit.
I can’t believe she’s no longer a minor as she turned 18 this year. She’s quite the young lady!
I’m sure you won’t regret, but why take the chance? Keep both!
haha. That was not my intent.
I just meant to say that they are very different tools made for, in my opinion, very different purposes: the sole commonality is that they are made by the same manufacturer.
Yes, I am rather fond of my garage.
I have both. They are comparable only on the superficial level (and well, the feel of the seats and driver ergonomics). They are both amazing, and I would not change a thing.
I don’t really care personally (honestly) because I don’t drive cars for clout (and see my sig), but I do appreciate your thoughtfulness. I deleted as well.
Factory worked with PCA, but it is a factory limited edition. It’s legit. Very few options you could pick. Mine is only 1 of 6 to come with factory aero kit. X51 power kit, RWD, manual. All 50 have same color and cannot PTS to it (but they have similar colors). Sounds glorious. File to big to...
Only because I had the older style Targa (996) that was closer to the modern glass sunroof. I like being able to open and close while driving. Mine was based on a Carrera S so only RWD, manual, with factory power kit.
Yes, in theory the roof is heavier but, c’mon people, for a street car how...
On paper, all of this is true. In reality, the Targa is absolutely glorious. I had a Targa and I absolutely loved it. To this day, it remains my wife's favorite of the 911s I have had, including the club coupe above.
Today, I would likely instead get a coupe with the glass sunroof option...
That’s exactly how I see that world. Mine’s no F40, but it is 1 of only 50 (#48), and for more than a decade, it was my only car and daily driver, sun, rain, snow and hauler of 3 kids.
Cars, even collectible ones, are meant to be driven. I can’t think of anything more fun than driving, say, an F40 every chance you got instead of some sh*tbox so that you could keep the F40 mothballed and collecting dust.
I too am deeply tempted by the Dakar with the extended tribute package.
I think it's pretty clear at this point that he is not motivated by financial gain or even material wealth. He does what he wants and so much the better if he earns money along the way. That can be good for investors or bad . . . but I don't think Musk cares in the least (apart from wanting...
Ah yes, I was thinking of the nutty Ferrari financing rather than Porsche
Taken from the Internet (https://www.edmunds.com/calculators/car-lease.html)
"In broad terms, you calculate a lease by determining and adding the depreciation fee, plus a monthly sales tax and a financing fee. If you're...
In the US, for my builds, the RV was flipped (from a percentage basis . . . not for overall MSRP/final RV) for 4S and Turbo.
For more importantly, however, is the point that you are only financing the depreciation, so a 10K, 20K or 30K difference in MSRP may not necessarily result in a huge hit...
The dealer told me the truth. I leased my car and went through all of the options, with the contracts before me to sign.
The depreciation rates set by the manufacturer just aren't sophisticated enough to take into account the impact of options as you are assuming. I am using that to my advantage.
I really feel like we are talking past each other. I did all of the calculations you used in your example, because that is the choice I was making.
The money factor/estimated depreciation rate really matters.
let's take your example of a loaded up 4S and a base Turbo S with equal MSRPs. If...
